CORNING PUBLIC LIBRARY
SUMMER PROGRAM
By Michelle Bryson
Summer I 2011
LIBM 6371
Designing Informaion Programs
ONE WORLD, MANY STORIESThe original theme of the whole summer
was “One World, Many Stories”. When I talked to one of the workers in the library, she indicated that there had been two different magicians previously in the library. Today The Kiddos from Siloam Springs, Arkansas was the guest.
LOTS OF MOVING AND MUSICThe Kiddos interacted with the 37 children
ages 2-12 years. They sang familiar songs that the younger children would already know.
PRE-SCHOOL EXPERTSThe Kiddos are a husband and wife song
group that have their own preschool in their home. As you can tell, they appeal to the younger children. The older children were a little bored with the program.
VERY ENTERTAININGThe Kiddos were very entertaining to the
younger children.
THE KIDDOS INFORMATIONThe Kiddos are Debbie Maise and her
husband. They run an ABC preschool program in their home in Siloam Springs, Arkansas and they go around the state doing programs in the summer.

ARKANSAS ARTS COUNCILWhen I talked to the librarian, I found out
that all the presenters were on a list for the Arkansas Arts Council. They would apply for reimbursement of 40% of their fees. She was nice enough to give me a copy of the application. They have grants for school libraries also. The website has more information.

FACEBOOKI observed a lady taking pictures. At the end
of the program, she announced that all the pictures were going to be on the library’s Facebook page. I thought it was odd that they were putting pictures of children on a public page, but names aren’t being put on them… As of right now, the pictures have not made it there. The address to the Facebook page is as follows:
