Formed around 1945 Type of militia that fought against the British Named ‘Minute Men’ because it was said they
were ready for battle in a minute’s notice Fought the Battle of Lexington until militia
reinforcements arrived Most minute men went to join the full militia Volunteer army
EQUIPMENT AND TRAINING Wore farmers or work clothes into
battle Used fowling pieces or rifles Most of their weapons did not
include bayonets like the British Were not trained for battle Most were used to irregular fighting from frontier hunting
