Sunsets

How sunsets form:

The sky turns red, orange, or yellow at sunrise and sunset, because light is traveling through more air when the sun is low in the sky.

Sunset or sundown is the appearance of the sun below the horizon and the Earth’s rotation.

Facts:

Volcanoes and sometimes forest fires, bring the most vivid sunsets. They both produce particles that are just the right size to scatter light at the end of the red spectrum.

The red, orange, pink, and sometimes green is caused by something called the Rayleigh scattering.

Facts

The human eye sees color by detecting electromagnetic radiation in a portion of the spectrum called visible light.

When the sun is high in the sky it generally appears white.

Clean air brings orange sunsets because both yellow and red light travel through the air.

Facts:

Twilight is the period when the sun is below the horizon but we still see light in the sky.

The colors of a sunset are caused by dust.

The sunset is more colorful than the sunrise, because morning air is not as calm, so there are less particles.
