CONVERTING VHS TO DVD
LEGAL OR NOT? Can library media specialists make
different formats just so their teachers can have options?
If so every library would have two versions of everything.
How does this contradict fair use guidelines?
WHY NOT MAKEOTHER VERSIONS?
WHAT IF THE WORK IS DETERIORATING ?
YOU CAN PROTECT THE WORK If you have a deteriorating work you can
make up to three copies, only if the work is not produced anymore. If you can purchase the work, that is the
only option you have. Once again, fair use falls back to,
making sure that the copyright holder’s rights are not being ignored. There is no way to pay for a video that is no longer being produced, so the company is not losing money.
QUESTIONS??? Remember: Your media specialist is always here to help clarify any fair use issues you may encounter.
