OUR SOLAR SYSTEM• Mercury is Gray• It has no atmosphere, all we see

is a rocky surface

• Venus is a yellowish white• You can only see a thick layer of

colorless and featureless sulfuric acid clouds

• Earth is light blue with white clouds

• The light is scattered by the atmosphere which makes earth prevailingly blue

Page 3: By Alexis Howard

OUR SOLAR SYSTEM• Mars is red orange• This color comes from rusty

rocks on the surface since the clouds are rare and thin

• Jupiter has orange and white bands

• It has a solid surface so all we see are just clouds in the atmosphere

• Saturn is pale yellow with a white ammonia haze

• Its Northern hemisphere is blue

OUR SOLAR SYSTEM

• Uranus is light blue• Its color come from methane

clouds

• Neptune is light blue• Its color has also to do with

methane clouds

INNER PLANETS

Venus

INNER PLANETS Our Inner Planets are Mars, Venus, Earth ,and Mercury

they are the inner planets because they are closer to the sun, and because they are also inside the asteroid belt between Mars ,and Jupiter.

OUTER PLANETS

Neptune

Page 8: By Alexis Howard

OUTER PLANETS Our Inner Planets are Jupiter , Neptune, Uranus, and

Saturn, because they are also inside the asteroid belt between mars. They are farthest away from the sun

EARTHS SURFACE Earths surface has seventy percent water, and twenty

nine percent land. It has five oceans , Atlantic, Pacific, Indian, Arctic, and Southern. The Pacific is the largest, and the Arctic is the smallest ocean.

Page 10: By Alexis Howard

MARS SURFACE Mars surface has rusty red rocks on its surface and

mars has a very thin and rare clouds. It was named after the roman god of war. There used to be volcanoes around mars ,but now they are instinct the volcanoes look like shields around mars.

CURIOSITY

Curiosity is a car sizedRover exploring galeCrater on mars as part

of Nasas Mars science

Laboratory mission

HOW ARE MARS AND EARTH ALIKE Earth and Mars are alike by they are both inner

planets and they both are rocky, there atmospheres, are closely to the sun and both are hypothetically capable of supporting life.

Page 13: By Alexis Howard

HOW ARE MARS AND EARTH DIFFERENT

Mars and Earth are different by Mars radius is 2,106 milesand Earths radius is 3,959 miles. Mars surface area is 55.91 square miles and Earths surface area is 196.9 square miles

CONCLUSION The conclusion is Mars and Earth are alike and

different in many ways. The inner planets are closer to the sun than the outer planets, the mars rover curiosity explores extraordinary things and, the Earths surface is different then the mars surface. I also want to thank Mrs. Mayer for being an incredibly good teacher and showing me the amazing things about PowerPoint. Hope you enjoy this presentation
