First Camera InventedJoseph Nicephore Niepce invented the first
camera in 1827. He created it by placing an engraving onto a metal plate coated in bitumen, and then exposed it to light.
First Handheld Camera InventedThomas Skaife may have been first with a camera
he designed in 1858, along with a redesigned version from 1859 that he named the Pistolgraph.
First Video RecorderThe first video cameras were produced in the
1920s in support of the early television systems. John Logie Baird built a camera as part of his television system demonstrated in 1925.
First Digital Video Recorderit is generally agreed that the DVR was invented
in 1997 and the earlier PVR was invented in 1967, while only holding 30 seconds of video - it was revolutionary at the time.

First Video Game InventedWilliam Higinbotham created the first video
game ever in 1958. His game, called "Tennis for Two," was created and played on a Brookhaven National Laboratory oscilloscope.
