    Background and purpose

    The current standard dwr: Nr. 0000-44-41020 01 (Att. 01) is time consuming and

    causes many defects. The urose of this e!a"uation is to #nd a more e$cient

    way to we"d %ric&s into mem%rane wa""s with as few we"d defects as ossi%"e.

    The new design and rocess was tested in 'uro 'a&o!ic in a co""a%oration

    %etween * and 'uro 'a&o!ic .

    Test no. 1 (01 to 04 Marc !010"

    The #rst set of we"ds consisted of + %ric&s ,mm 14mm +mm r4 and distance

    % was 14mm ies ' /+mm +/mm. ateria"s were 1/ro4-3 ie and stri.

    A"" we"ding was done without interrutions (ecet %etween "ayers) starting in a

    corner and ending in the same corner (otion 2).

    The stri width has %een changed to 1,mm thus ma&ing the %ric& "arger than the

    ones used for test num%er 1. This time / %ric&s were we"ded using method /

    otion 2 according to do& . 0000-44-41020 01 with / asses. Fnfortunate"y the

    %ric&s were not made according to the drawing. The radiograhic e!a"uation

    showed that none of the we"ds were acceta%"e according to any standard.
