NSS UNIT-BVRITH FOR THE PEOPLE

Name of the Program: “First Responder App &Life Saving Skills”

Date: 30-03-2017

Brief Report of the Event:

NSS Unit of BVRIT Hyderabad had organized an awareness program on “First Responder”

App & “Life Saving Skills” for all the NSS volunteers by Dr.Satish, Remedy Hospitals on

30th March 2017.

Dr Satish shared brief information about the importance of immediate help to the victims.

First Responders will be able to stabilize and save victims of Common Emergencies before

the ambulance arrives. Common emergencies include Cardiac Arrest, Brain Stroke,

pregnancy, delivery, pediatric care, road trauma etc.

Name of the Program:3K Run for “Run for a street cause”

Date: 26-03-2017



NSS volunteers of BVRIT Hyderabad participated in 3k Run for “Run for a Cause”, Street

Cause on 26th March 2017 at People’s Plaza, Necklace Road, Hyderabad. Street Cause is the

largest Student-Run NGO in Hyderabad since 2009, with volunteers from 100+ top colleges

in the city. The funds raised from the event are used for the adoption of different villages.

Street Cause provides them with proper houses for shelter, hygienic and potable water

facilities, and a High School for proper education of kids.

Name of the Program:Awareness program on “Organ Donation”

Date: 07-02-2017



NSS unit BVRITH-FOR THE PEOPLE had organized an awareness program on the

importance of Organ Donation &Jeevandan Programme for faculty and all third year

students.In this programmeDr.G.SwarnaLatha, Head of JEEVANDAN, NIMS Hospital, gave

a session on the importance of organ donation and how it helps the needy people. Around 200

students participated in the session.

Name of the Program:Awareness program on “Call Ambulance”

Our NSS unit BVRITH-FOR THE PEOPLE conducted an awareness program on “Call

Ambulance” App for all first year students. In this regard Mrs.HariPriya, trainer gave a

session on call ambulance app importance in emergency cases and how it works for the needy

people etc..Around 150 students participated in the session.

Our NSS Unit BVRITH-FOR THE PEOPLE in coordination with Manojagruthi team

conducted MitraProgram for all second year students. In this regard Dr.GeethaChalla,

counseller gave a session on 11th January 2017.Around 190 students participated in the

session.

Name of the Program:First-Aid Training session by Indian RedCross Society

Date: 07-01-2017


Brief Report of the Event: To create awareness on First Aid importance BVRIT Hyderabad

National Services Scheme Unit organized aFirst-Aid Training Program on 7th January 2017

in association with the Red Cross Society. In this program the students of BVRITH

participated and learnt how to give first aid when there is a problem of burning, suicide, heart

attack, snake bite, sunstrokeetc..Themembers of the Red Cross Society gave first aid

awareness tips by showing the demo of the same.74 NSS volunteers benefitted out of the

same.40 students got certificates from Indian Red Cross Society.

Name of the Program:Orphanage Visit

Date: 31-12-2016



On behalf of NSS Unit BVRITH-FOR THE PEOPLE, 43 volunteers of NSS visited Maruthi

Orphanage-an orphanage for rescued girlson 31st December 2016 and distributed old and

new clothes, fruits and snacks to the girls on the occasion of New Year Celebrations. The

volunteers cooked food, served them and spent a whole day in the Orphanage. Principal Dr.

KVN Sunitha, NSS Coordinator Dr. V Madhavi, Faculty of BVRITH participated in this

visit.





Name of the Program:DaanUtsav- Joy of Giving

Date: 08-10-2016



The volunteers of NSS BVRITH organized “Joy of Giving Festival -DaanUtsav” in the

campus. The College Principal, Dr. K V N Sunithaand Dr. V Madhavi,NSS Coordinator of

the program presided over the program. Under this event HAPPY BOXES were placed in

each block of the college and hostels to collect old clothes, toys, books etc., for the well-

being of needy people. Volunteers took the initiative to collect the things from respective

neighbourhoods to spread the awareness about the event. In total 4000+items were collected

from college. The collected things were then distributed to the needy and poor people in

nearby localities.Inaddition, the students of BVRITH put up stalls of food, ornaments, plants

etc. and sold in the college and an amount of Rs 10000/- was donated to Ms.G.Swathi whose

sister has been suffering from brain fever.With the support of Principal, Professors,

Volunteers and students this event was a great success.

Name of the Program:NSS Day Celebrations

Date: 24-09-16



NSS Unit of BVRIT Hyderabad College of Engineering for Women celebrated the NSS day

on 24th of September with great fervor and enthusiasm. On this occasion NSS organized an

all religion prayer and get together. In this event volunteers spoke about importance of being

united inspite of different religions. Dance performance was given by NSS volunteers on

Secularism. Dr. V.Madhavi, NSS Program Officer appreciated NSS team who took part in

this celebration and made it a great success. HonourablePrincipal,Dr. KVN Sunitha, lauded

the role of NSS volunteers in spreading awareness among the masses on different issues.





Name of the Program:Gender Equality- Session on Role of NSS Volunteers in the

empowerment of Women”

Date: 20-09-16



NSS has initiated and introduced various schemes of social service for the women

empowerment particularly in rural and semi urban areas where women are subject to

exploitation and harassment. The volunteers who are equipped with competence and

knowledge to deal with the social and economic challenges are in a position to transmit the

process of self-empowerment among women folk through creation of awareness about

women’s rights, gender equality and by way of providing information on self-employment

and economic independence.

In this view NSS –BVRITH organized a session on “Role of NSS Volunteers in the

empowerment of Women”. Dr S Faith Manjusha Vijayalatha, Asst Professor of English

department was invited as speaker for this session. She inspired the NSS volunteers with

motivational words to empower others for a more gender-equal India.





Name of the Program:Distribution of Clay Ganesha Idols

Date: 03-09-16



Volunteers of the NSS BVRITH distributed Clay Ganesha idols to BVRITH Faculty and the

residents of Rajiv Gandhi Nagar, Bachupally here on 3 September 2016, urging people to

celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi festival in harmony with the environment. The NSS volunteers

raised slogans explaining the ill effects of using idols made from Plaster of Paris and its

dangesr to the lakes. Students were seen beating drums rhythmically along the rally by

displaying placards and colourful posters. The main theme of this event as to create

awareness about pollution caused by using idols made of Plaster of Paris on Ganesh

Chaturthi. Around 300+ idols were made with the processed clay and distributed. The

Principal of BVRITH, NSS Coordinator, NSS volunteers and faculty of BVRITH

participated in this programme with great enthusiasm.

Name of the Program:INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATIONS at Govt Primary School

Date: 15-08-2016


Brief Report of the Event: In connection with 70thIndependence Day Celebrations, NSS

team of around 31 volunteers went to Government Primary School which is located in

Nizampet Village and conducted various games for the school children. They also conducted

cultural programmes focusing on the importance of SwachhBharat. Principal Dr. K V N

Sunitha, NSS Coordinator Dr. V Madhavi participated in this programme and distributed the

school kit and prizes to the school children.

Name of the Program:Indepence Day Celebrations

Date: 15-08-2016


Brief Report of the Event: August 15 is a significant day and a proud moment for all

Indians. On the 70th Independence Day, a Parade was organized by NSS team of BVRIT

Hyderabad. The celebration was inaugurated with a flag hoisting by principal followed by

national anthem. Principal and HODs of various departments addressed the students with

their inspirational messages. We follow the quote “You must be the change you want to see

in the World”. NSS volunteers sang patriotic songs praising our country.
