Our food travels a long way from the field to our plate. We must all understand the
importance of food and should not waste it. Let us do an activity for better
understanding of the journey of food. Draw/ paste pictures to represent each of these
steps with the sub-titles and write the heading as “JOURNEY OF FOOD”.
Chapattis are made from wheat. Wheat is obtained from plants.
Farmer grows the plants. He prepares his crop field (soil). He sows the
seeds. He adds manures and fertilisers He waters the plants for their proper
growth. He protects the plants from weeds and pests. He harvests the crop
when they mature. The farmer sells his crop. Our parents buy the food items
from the market that is cooked in our kitchen.
