OF DIRECTORS

Special Olympics has inspired my entire family to champion acceptance and inclusion, not only of people with intellectual disabilities, but of many diverse groups who are the subject of discrimination. Attending the Special Olympics World Summer Games in Los Angeles and the World Winter Games in Austria, we personally witnessed the true international scope of the Special Olympics message of “choosing to include.” Here in Southern California, I am proud to be part of our staff and dedicated volunteers who work tirelessly on behalf of our athletes. Without exception, the true heroes of our movement are our athletes themselves. They inspire us daily with their courage, enthusiasm and determination both on and off the fields of play.
