RCR Energy brings a range of world-leading technologies together for its clients.

In the fields of combustion, heat exchange and power generation, RCR has design and performance engineering systems that have been developed in-house and in cooperation with international partners via technology licensing and preferred integrator arrangements.

A license agreement with Babcock & Wilcox Power Generation Group enables RCR Energy to offer the latest combustion technologies, along with Babcock & Wilcox’s suite of power boiler technologies. HRSG technology for combined cycle gas turbine power plants derives from the stable of AE&E Australia, acquired by RCR in 2011.

Advanced combustion technologies available through RCR include fluidized bed and gasification, as well as various grate-fired solutions for solid fuels and specialised burner systems for liquid and gaseous fuels.

Air emission control is an area of increasing focus for clients and RCR Energy is well placed to deliver tailor-made solutions for control of all pollutants arising from typical combustion processes.

design

RCR Energy uses power plant modelling software, along with thermal and circulation software suites developed by Babcock & Wilcox and other technology partners. Proven over many years of application, this assists engineering teams to create excellent solutions giving clients a high degree of confidence.

Design is at the heart of the business, with RCR Energy utilising the latest software tools including 3D modelling, enabling innovative design to be carried out efficiently.

RCR undertakes detailed Front End Engineering Design (FEED), which is fundamental in determining the appropriate power island configuration and Balance of Plant (BOP) requirements.

Detailed fuel analysis, water analysis, power grid connections, evaluation of power grid operator rules and requirements for dispatch, and instrument and control systems can also be completed as part of the RCR determination. RCR investigates through-life costs of the plant based on maintenance recommendations from a variety of technology suppliers.
