Section I: Directions and Examples

Main ConceptThis is the overall idea for the blog and everything you write should, in some way or another, help you and your blog achieve this main idea.

Example: Spaceship Affiliate is the life-support vessel that we, the astronauts aboard the spaceship, use to convey and relay our messages; the findings throughout the known universe. We strive to give every individual a fair chance of the knowledge that can better their decisions, large and small, for the betterment of mankind. (I tend to get creative with my writing)

Vision & Mission StatementsVision - This is your time to write a statement about what you want your idea to become.

Mission - This is a statement briefly explaining the purpose of the blog, service or products you'll provide, and primary target market (the people who you believe will read your blog).

Example: Vision – A Blog purposefully scrounging the universe to bring what you need directly on your screen.

Mission - To date, 23 October 2017, our mission will continue to be Providing Earth and its Inhabitants with reviews on products, services, important topics, and more to captivate, enlighten, and empower the community that follows with the necessary knowledge here-in

Example:Short-term Goals: Within the first month I want to post daily in different topics and blog post styles to better define my niche by focusing on the blog analytics and deciding which topic/style performs best.

Mid-term Goals: By the fourth month of blogging, I want to have 100 followers on my Facebook page and 100+ Followers on the Spaceship Affiliate blog itself.

Long-term Goals: At my one year mark of blogging, I want to be making $500-$1,000 a month through ad-sense, affiliate programs, and helpful products.

Marketing   Briefly describe if you are planning on using social media. I recommend focusing on one platform, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, etc, master that platform and then have your following boost your other platforms as you go on. Also talk about starting a podcast; they're becoming increasing popular!

Example: I would like to have Facebook as my main social media influence by posting daily images that correlate directly with that day’s blog post. I’m also going to be very active in blogging groups on Facebook and other blogging websites within the community.

CompetitorsLook back to your mission statement section where you wrote down who you think will read your blog, then go and research other blogs in that area! (Great for inspiration as well, and take your time with research, there are a lot of tips & tricks you can learn from what other people are doing) But remember to improve what they have done, do not copy!

Example: Blogs that are like mine, ex. same niche: (website link) (website link) (website link)Short description on each blog, what stood out to you, and what makes them a competitor.

Design & DevelopmentThis is the part I enjoy the most; The designing phase! After researching other websites, it's your time to talk about your blogs primary colors, features you would like to include, and going through WordPress themes, and writing down the names of the themes you really enjoyed!

Example: Websites I visited that had a unique design feature that I liked. (website link) (website link) (website link)WordPress themes that I liked (theme name/link) (theme name/link) (theme name/link)Primary Colors for my blog: Black and White or Multicolored or HEX color code.

FinancialsThis part...as I've said in the blog post, I don't believe anyone needs to just pour money into blogging for themes, features, etc. Be comfortable with your spending budget; pay for a year of WordPress, buy your domain, and start writing content and marketing that content!

If you truly commit to your blog, you'll be able to afford those awesome features you found on other websites along the way (add those features to your Mid-term, long-term goals!)

Example: WordPress Free Blog: $0WordPress Personal Blog: $4/monthDomain Registration: $14.99Premium Theme: $50 Other planned expenses: $0.00

ConclusionRecap on everything you've written, and put down any extra notes you think may be helpful later on!

Example: Spaceship Affiliate is a blog focused on providing the community with insight and knowledge on products, services, etc. to better inform the community. I would like to find the niche within the first month, 100 followers on my Facebook page and blog by the 4th month, and make $500-1,000 per month by the 1st year of blogging. Facebook will be my main social media influence site. These listed websites are my possible competitors and this is why. The design of the blog will be…with the primary colors focused on… For starting the blog, I will need $60 to pay for my first year of blogging.
