HOW DOES YOUR FLOOR MEASURE UP?

The SCOF is a standard way to measure the traction of a floor. It is typically measured on a

scale of 0.00 (no traction) to 1.00 (very high traction). The Americans with Disabilities Act

(ADA) suggests a SCOF of 0.60 for flat surfaces and 0.80 for ramps.

The recommendations shown below have been issued by American National Standards

Institute (ANSI).

MEASURING COEFFICIENT OF FRICTION

THE ASM 825A SLIP METER IS INCLUDED WITH

EVERY SOLUTION PROVIDER PACKAGE

This important tool will allow you to demonstrate product

effectiveness on various surfaces and expose possible liability issues.

The ASM 825A is designed to test Static Coefficient of Friction (SCOF)

and is built for portability and field use. Recorded readings can be

given to your customers for defense of negligent litigation or to

insurance companies for possible premium discounts

EASY TO CALIBRATE & RELIABLE TO USE

Simple instructions allow you to calibrate the slip meter for immediate use. Designed for

ease of operation, handling and transportation. Lightweight device weighs less than 8 lbs.

Acceptable for air travel. Precision base and parts with protective powder coat finish.

Gauge is manufactured to plus/minus 1% accuracy. Tested and calibrated prior to

shipment.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

• How long has SlipDoctors been in business? SlipDoctors and our parent company, SoftTec Products, were founded in July 2008.

• What type of businesses can benefit from SlipDoctors products? Our Solution Providers provide application services to many residential and corporate customers located in their

areas, including hotel chains, restaurants, assisted living facilities, schools and many other local businesses.

• Does SlipDoctors manufacture its products? Yes, we are the manufacturer. All SlipDoctors chemicals and coatings are developed and made in the United

States at professional licensed facilities.

• How long will it take to get started? Most of our Solution Providers start approaching the market within a few days after training. Some have sold

jobs in the first week! We can ship all product and equipment within days after finalizing an Agreement.

• Do I receive a territory? Based upon your location, you will be included within the Metropolitan Statistical Area (“MSA”) for your home

ZIP Code, and this territory will be stated in your Agreement. The maximum number of active Solution Providers

within an MSA is limited based upon population density. As an independent contractor, you are not restricted

from selling or servicing customers outside the MSA territory. Contact us for more details.

• Do you offer financing? We may offer in-house and third-party financing. Contact us for more details.

• Do you provide leads for application services? Leads received by our office are forwarded to the local Provider based upon proximity.

• Do I need a slip meter? We require that all Solution Providers perform COF tests to national industry standards to ensure the customer’s

flooring surfaces meet minimum ADA recommendations. A slip meter is included as part of the Package, and we

provide training on how to properly operate the equipment.

• Can training be held at my location or via Skype? We offer live training at our office in Carrollton, Texas. As an option, training via Skype is available at no extra

charge. We also offer training at your location for additional cost.

• What is the average cost per square foot? Your cost per square foot depends on the product and dilution ratio used. Using the Three-Step System, your

average product cost can be close to $0.02 per square foot. For a typical job of 2,000 sq ft, a Solution Provider’s

product cost could be less than $40.00.

• Are there possible legal implications to selling a solution to help prevent slip-and-fall

accidents? It is important to communicate to your customers that you are selling products to help increase traction. By

increasing a surface’s Coefficient of Friction (“COF”), the likelihood of a fall is reduced. SlipDoctors and its

Solution Providers should never promise to eliminate slip-and-fall accidents. If this is accurately communicated

verbally and in writing, then legal issues are avoided.

• Are the products safe? Solution Providers must follow the specific precautions and safety guidelines for each product. Up-to-date

Technical Data Sheets (TDS) and Safety Data Sheets (SDS) are available for all our chemical products.

• What is the expected duration of slip resistance after a surface has been treated? A treatment or coating with SlipDoctors products generally lasts between five and ten years, depending on the

product and environment. Solution Providers will include a two-year written warranty with any product

application.

• What is the shelf life of SlipDoctors products? If sealed and properly stored, most products can last over five years.

• Do you offer solutions for wood, vinyl, VCT, metal, painted surfaces, sealed surfaces

or linoleum floors? Our Floor Grip, Dura Grip and Tuff Grip coatings are very effective on these surfaces. Contact us for specific

product information.

• Are any of the products endorsed by leading bathtub or shower manufacturers? We have documentation from major bathtub manufacturers stating that SlipDoctors products can be used and

will not affect the warranty of the bathtub or shower. Contact us for more information.
