Biography

Maher Magableh is a successful entrepreneur and businessman whose commitment to self-reliance and excellence extend across his philanthropic endeavours and his participation in the world of martial arts.

Applying the skills that he gained from his business and management studies he founded EzyMart in 2001 as a single convenience store, he has spearheaded its growth into a major player in the Australian market with 350 stores. He is perhaps most proud of the role that his business plays in the lives of the EzyMart family, knowing that some 1,500 families are being raised by his engaged and committed workforce.

Through EzyMart and JAFA (Jordanian Australian Friendship Association) which he founded in 2010, Maher is always available to help Jordanian students not just by offering them work but by providing them with guidance and help to enroll in universities, chose the field of study, understand the Australian system and find suitable accommodation.

With an increasingly effective and autonomous executive team at the helm, Maher has more time to focus his attention and talents on his philanthropic endeavours, founding and leading the Maher Foundation and as a Trustee of Taekwondo Humanitarian Foundation providing help to refugees around the world. He is Also a board member in the Arabic Heritage League in Australia.

Practitioner, Referee, Advocate As a long-time practitioner of Taekwondo, Maher has been involved in the

sport since the age of 6 and has achieved some of the highest ranks in the sport. He also lends weight and strategic insight to the governance of World Taekwondo. Having practiced the sport at the highest levels himself as well as refereeing for Olympics and representing Jordan and Australia as an official in some of the most prestigious championships worldwide, Maher contributes to the sport’s governance and development. Maher is currently a member in the World Taekwondo Marketing Committee. He is also an executive board member in World Taekwondo Oceania.

As a Member of the Board of World Taekwondo for Oceania, Maher contributes to the development of Taekwondo in the Oceania region and globally, making strategic decisions which will impact on the member nations and its athletes, coaches and officials.

Always seeking for ways to give back to his communities, Maher is currently involved in the World Taekwondo Humanitarian Foundation, which provides health, wellbeing and personal development services in refugee camps from Jordan to Rwanda.
