    A visionsplendidFortunate

to be invited byThe Star toexperiencetheir newstate-of-the-art Event Centre in fulland glorious use, I attended the2nd AACTA (Australian Academyof Cinema and Television Arts)luncheon last Monday.

Hosted by Oscar and AFI(Australian Film Institute)Award winning lmmaker andentertainer Adam Elliot, creatorof Harvie Krumpet, it honouredoutstanding lm and televisionperformers, practitioners andproductions and was a precursorto AACTAs grand nale screenedon Channel 10 on Wednesdayevening.

Curiously, the awards werebrought on stage by a statuesqueblonde a in owing, oor length

cream dress, whose job apartfrom handing over the awardsto the presenters was to glidewinners seamlessly to wherethey should stand.

We never heard who she wasbut we dubbed her, The VisionSplendid!

For those of us invited in thebusiness events industry, theevent provided a window into therunning of a major event at thisbrand new facility and we werenot disappointed.

Apart from the stunning setsand table settings, the wait stawere an absolute standout, witha polished eciency that clearlyreected in-house Star training.

As for Adam Elliot, a prettycrash hot, Oscar winninglmmaker, he doesnt comemore highly recommendedespecially for organisers lookingfor an engaging; laugh out loudand thoroughly professionalemcee - Jill.

    Guilty as charged.Foodstagramming, the practice

that involves restaurant goerstaking photos of their mealsand posting them online may bea thing of the past, if the US isanything to go by.

Quoting several chefs in NewYork City, the New York Times saysome restaurants have startedbanning customers from taking

photos of their food. With shows like Masterchef

and innovative cooks and chefssuch as Jamie, Nigella, Gordonand their ilk, we cant seem tostop taking photos of creativepresentations.

Policies in the US aroundfood photography vary fromrestaurant to restaurant; theyrange from restrictions on usingash to outright bans.
