According to Stephen R. Covey, communication is themost important skill in life. Whatever profession we
are in, whatever position we hold, we need to be ef-
fective communicators. The need for effective com-
munication heightens when we are expected to de-
liver top quality customer service. Whether our cus-
tomers are external or internal, we need to communi-
cate with them to ensure that we have a clear under-
standing of their needs. We should deliver these
needs in a manner that meets or exceeds their expec-
tations.
At the end of the program, the partici- pants are expected to:
• Have a basic understanding of the
principles for effective communica-tion and how to apply these princi-
ples in their workplace;• Have a higher awareness of the way
they communicate, areas of self-improvement, and techniques to be
continuously improving communi-cators;
• Gain more confidence in their commu-
nication skills, particularly in thewritten media and oral communica-tion
Communication is to people aswater is to fish!
