Reporting to the Director, Facilities the Business Continuity Coordinator will be the college subject matter expert with respect to business continuity planning (BCP)
and disaster recovery (DR). Working collaboratively with a wide variety of college stakeholders, and using the framework developed by the Campus Alberta Risk Assurance (CARA) committee, the incumbent will be responsible for the
development, coordination, implementation, and maintenance of processes and systems for BCP at the college. The incumbent is responsible for assessing business
needs impacts and mitigation strategies. The Business Continuity Coordinator is responsible for promoting awareness and training of BCP. This work will ensure that effective controls are in place to enable the college to respond to a significant
business disruption.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop a Business Impact Analysis (BIA) to assess internal and external
risks posed to the college, and recommend mitigation strategies. Develop a BCP strategy leveraging the CARA BCP framework and industry
best practices. Lead, develop and maintain the content of the college-wide BCP for all
core operational areas which includes business resumption, recovery,
restoration and disaster recovery plans that allows for business continuation.
Communications of BCP activities, including presentations and providing status reports on department BCP progress.
Develops and/or coordinates BCP awareness, training sessions and
refresher courses related to emergency management and BCP Coordinate third party auditing of college BCP
Other BCP, DR or crisis management duties as assigned by Supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A Bachelor’s degree of management information systems or business
administration, or related degree with certificates from a recognized professional Business Continuity Management body.
Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Business Continuity Management /
Disaster Recovery / Crisis Management. Proven experience in BCP through influencing senior leaders, facilitating
decision making, and managing cross-functional teams. Sound knowledge of applicable ISO standards and industry best practices. Sound project management skills.
Excellent analytical skills and understanding of processes, risks and controls. Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
SALARY: $65 318- $84 817 per annum plus immediate participation in our comprehensive pension and benefits plans. This is a two year term position
which ends in 2019.
