1.1. About Business Card

Business Card Module helps you create a personalized business card which a user can create

and keep on his DNN site and send a colorful card through the mail.

2. Module Installation 2.1. Minimum Technical Requirements

In order to install the module, your DotNetNuke portal must meet the following requirements:

The DotNetNuke portal must be version 7.0 & 8.0 Series.

The DotNetNuke portal must be using Microsoft SQL 2008 or higher.

2.2. Installation Steps

To install the module, login to DotNetNuke as a host. From the Host menu click Extensions

button. Click on Install Extension Wizard button.

In the next window click the Browse button, locate the installation file on your computer hard

disk drive and then click the Next button.

In the next window, click the Next button.

In the next window, click the Next button.

Confirm that you accept the license and click the Next button.

After successful installation of the module, click the Return button.

3. Getting Started

3.1. Placing Module on the Page.

Navigate to the page where you want the module to be seen.

Hover over the Modules Tab which is located at the top of the page and click on Add new

Modules.

Find the Business Card Module from the list of modules. And Drag and Drop it on the Page.

3.2. Adding a Card.

Note: In order to Add a Business Card you need to Login into the Website.

Each User can Customize their own list of Cards.

Click on the Add Image Button to insert a New Card.

A Pop Up appears as follows:

There are few built in Templates from which the user can select and use.

If the User wants to create his own card there is a Blank Template Option which he can select.

Once the Template is selected You can edit the fields and create the html for the card and Hit

Save.

3.3. Editing a Card.

Note: In order to edit a Business Card you need to login into the Website.

Navigate to the page where the Business Card Module is Located.

Click on the edit icon at the Bottom of the Card.

Make the required changes and click on Save Button.

3.4. Deleting a Business Card.

Note: In order to edit a Business Card you need to login into the Website.

Navigate to the page where the Business Card Module is Located.

Click on the Delete Icon to delete the Business Card and the Card gets deleted.

Note: Once a Card is deleted it cannot be restored.

3.5. Pining and Unpinning a Card.

Note: Pinning a Card causes the Card to move up the order. Only one Card can be Pinned

at a Time.

Each User can Customize their own list i.e. each user can have different set of pinned or

unpinned cards according to their convenience.

In order to pin a link just click the Pin Button in front of the Card.

In order to Unpin a link just click the Pinned Button in front of the Link.

3.6. Navigating Between Lists of Cards.

Note: There are two types of listing one is Grid View and other List View.

Grid View:

At the top right corner there are two buttons. First one is Grid View.

This is an example of Grid View we have two arrows besides the card, which allows the user

to navigate between the cards.

List View:

At the top right corner there are two buttons. Second one is List View.

This is an example of List View. This displays all the cards in a list format.

We have pagination at the left top of the page and a drop down at the right which allows the

user to show a desired number of Cards in the List.

3.7. Sending the Card (Emailing the Card).

Note: SMTP needs to be configured for the site to successfully use this feature.

Only Super User / Host can do the SMTP settings.

Super User can configure the Setting under Host Host Settings Advanced Settings

SMTP Server Settings.

Host can configure the Settings under Admin Site Settings Advanced Settings

SMTP Server Settings.

At the bottom of the Card there is a Send this Card Button which allows the user to send the

Card via Email. Click on the button to send the Card.

A Pop Up screen appears as follows:

Email / Name:

Provide your Email address or Name that will appear in the From Tag of the Mail.

This is a Required Field.

Send To:

Provide recipient Email Address Email address here.

Send To:

Subject for the Mail.


Message:

Message that needs to be sent with the Mail.

Once the Details are filled hit the Send Button.

4. Uninstalling

To Uninstall the module, login to DotNetNuke Website as a host. From the Host menu click

Extensions button. You can see a list of Modules installed into the site.

Find the Business Card module and click the Delete icon in front of it.

Check the Delete Files checkbox and then Click on the Uninstall Package Button.
