GENERAL INFORMATIONELIGIBILITY

1. All students who are already studying, or who are planning to study towards a CharteredAccountant (Namibia) qualification;

2. Students must qualify for admission or be registered for a B.Com (Accounting) or equivalentdegree at a university recognised by the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants

(SAICA) or by the Institute of Chartered Accountants Namibia (ICAN);3. Bursaries will be awarded on the basis of academic merit;4. Those persons who have other financial support or bursary whereby they are required to

complete a period of work within the bursary-awarding entity, will not be eligible for a BDO

bursary;5. BDO is an Employment Equity employer and preference will be given to Namibian students from

previously disadvantaged groups.

VALUE OF BURSARYBursaries awarded will be limited to the budgeted amount agreed to by the partners of the firm fromyear to year. Bursaries are renewed providing the student achieves a pass rate at the end of each

academic year.

CONDITIONS OF BURSARYBursaries will be awarded to the persons whom the firm believes have the commitment to qualify as a

Chartered Accountant (Namibia), have an academic record which indicate the ability to do so and withdue regard to financial need.

In return for the bursary, the student undertakes to work for the firm for a period equal to the numberof academic years for which provides support, subject to a maximum of the period of the trainingcontract required in terms of ICAN.

The student also undertakes to be available for vacation work at BDO.A detailed bursary contract will be entered into once a bursary has been awarded.
