iii. Gradebook and/or online grade reporting system expectations, including any expectation of when the teacher of record must input student grades

• Gradebooks will be updated weekly with the two required grades per subject

b. Homework

Homework will be used to enrich or reinforce topics covered in class and will be given on a limited basis. Teacher should be mindful of evening activities and the amount of support the child will have for completing homework. Homework practices should satisfy one of the following:

• To provide a drill that helps the student practice the basic skills of a subject.

• To give the student practice and extension of concepts learned in class.

• To develop effective study methods including studying for a test.

• To allow the student to make up work after an absence.

• To allow for reading practice (ie..60 minutes a week)

Suggested amount of time for homework by grade level

• Best practice for homework times would be 10 minutes X grade-level child is enrolled. Ex- 3rd grader X 10 = 30 minutes nightly

Guidelines for homework are as follows:

• Homework will not be assigned as punishment.

• No homework will be given on Wednesday nights or before a holiday.

• Homework will not be given as a grade.

• The teacher is responsible for assigning effective, well-planned homework assignments that aid the student in the mastery of the essential knowledge and skills.
