BURLINGTON COUNTY SPECIAL SERVICES SCHOOL DISTRICT BOARD OF EDUCATION
REGULAR MEETING June 28, 2012
The Regular Meeting of the Board of Education of the Special Services School District was held on Thursday evening,
June 28, 2012 at the Westampton campus on Pioneer Blvd.,
Westampton, New Jersey.
The meeting was called to order at 5:30 p.m. by the President, Paula D. Lee, followed by the Flag Salute. Theresa Margiotta,
Board Secretary, stated that this meeting was in accordance with
the Open Public Meetings Act and that this was a public meeting.

Public Comment/Attendance Public Comment/
Additional attendees were Helen Scherer, Anthony Dent and Attendance
Trudy Compra. A building and program overview of the Elementary
campus was presented by Anthony Dent. Helen Scherer, teacher from
the High School campus commented that when she was assigned to the
Elementary campus, she knew Mr. Dent to be a fabulous administrator. His parents are very involved with programs and he is excellent with his
Staff. Ms. Scherer also stated that the High School graduations and
Hershey class trip were excellent experiences for the students. Ms. Scherer
thanked the Board members for their continued support.
Approval was sought for the minutes of June 28, 2012 Regular Meeting. June 28, 2012

Motion carried unanimously.
The Board approved the payment of bills for June in the 10 Fund Fund 10
(Current Expense) in the amount $1,883,038.20 subject to proper
certification.
Mr. Jones made a motion; seconded by Ms. Burgess.
Motion carried unanimously.
The Board approved the payment of bills for June in the 60 Fund Fund 60
(Cafeteria) in the amount of $65,092.87 subject to proper certification.

The Board approved the payment of bills for June in the 60 Fund Fund 60
(Human Services) in the amount of $6,458.69 subject to proper
certification.

The Board approved the payment of bills for June in the 51 Fund Fund 51
(Burlington Co. Educational Unit) in the amount of $1,758,317.18
subject to proper certification.

The Board reviewed the May monthly report of the Reports of the
Secretary and Custodian of School Money and approved the certification Secretary and

following agreement for Shared Superintendent Services: Services
WHEREAS, the Burlington County Institute of Technology (“BCIT”) is in need of
Superintendent services; and
WHEREAS, the Burlington County Special Services School District (“BCSSSD”) employs Dr. Donald P. Lucas as its Superintendent of Schools: and
WHEREAS, BCIT and BCSSSD have agreed to share the services of Dr. Lucas with
BCIT, pursuant to a Shared Services Agreement: and
WHEREAS, the parties agree that the renewal of the Shared Services Agreement has
benefited the students of both BCIT and BCSSSD:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Education as follows:
1. The Shared Services Agreement with Burlington County Special Services School
District to share the services of the Superintendent of Schools, attached hereto as
Exhibit “A”, is hereby approved.
2. The Board President and Secretary are authorized to execute the Shared Services
Agreement and any and all other documentation necessary to effectuate its purposes.
