Weekly Cooking challenge for Students and Staff
If you have the ingredients or can get them, try making some Irish Soda Bread

Follow the recipe above but here’s some pictures and tips below from us making this at home today.
‘Mise en place’, get all your ingredients ready
Stir all your dry ingredients
Add the yogurt (or you can use milk and a little lemon juice, see here https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/simple-soda-bread )
Knead the dough for a few minutes until smooth
Make into a ball shape and then cut a deep cross (almost to the bottom of the dough)
Bake for 20 – 25 minutes, tap the bottom of the bread should sound hollow like a drum and look like this, we made two small loaves.
If you can’t get the Soda Bread ingredients, see what you can make using whatever you have, and most importantly Make it look Beautiful
We made a couple of things this week out of leftovers and whatever we could find.
Poached egg with mushrooms and tomatoes Cooked with a little curry powder.
Eggy Crumpets with leftover seitan (you could use bacon etc..)
