Materials
White scraps for background
Orange scraps for carrots
Green scraps for carrot tops
(1) 5”x10” Brown scrap for bunny
(8) 1.5”x9.5” Green strips
(3) 1.5”x13.5” Green strips
1.5” Green scrappy strips for binding
Freezer paper
Copy paper for printing paper piecing pattern
1/2 yard backing fabric
Batting
General Notes and Instructions
All seam allowances = ¼ inch
All fabrics are sewn with right sides together
Press all seams open
Intermediate skill level
Finished Quilt = 14 x 21 inches
Instructions:
1. Using the attached paper piecing pattern, create
5 mini carrots.
2. Trace the bunny pattern onto the non-shiny side
of freezer paper
3. Iron the freezer paper bunny onto the wrong
side of brown scrap
4. Cut the bunny out of the brown scraps
5. Cut out a plain white background using the final
template
6. Applique the bunny onto the white template
7. Assemble the carrots according to the diagrams
on following page
8. Quilt using your favorite technique
9. Finish with binding

where! Sandy at Gray Barn Designs caught one
bunny crunching his way through a carrot
patch! Make this charming paper pieced and ap-
pliqued mini quilt using your stash of
scraps! Sandy had plenty of orange, green and
white scraps in her stash and created this project in
a weekend. You’ll smile all the way through this
project whether you decide to make a table topper,
a mini wall hanging or possibly a pillow. If you are
new to paper piecing, this is the perfect small pro-
ject to get started!
