Uniform Shop News

Welcome to Term 4!

The Uniform Shop will resume trading every Friday afternoon during Term 4. We will be open from 2.45 to 3.45pm every Friday; however orders can still be left at the front office for processing.

Due to an increase in manufacturing costs some of our uniform prices will have to rise, this is unfortunate but we have absorbed these increases for as long as we can. Short sleeve polo shirts will now sell for $22.00 and dresses will now be $45.00.

The Uniform Shop will be open during the Kindergarten Activity Sessions for new Kindy parents; these sessions are on Tuesday 18th October from 9.30 to 11.00am and Wednesday 26th October from 1.00 to 2.00pm.

Fundraiser—Pink Ribbon Day Friday 4th November 2011

On Friday 4th November all students are asked to wear something pink (this is an extra challenge for our boys) and bring a gold coin donation to school to support Breast Cancer awareness and the Cancer Council.

Pink wrist bands will also be on sale on the day, in the quadrangle before school for $4.00 each.

AppleQuest 2011! Wednesday 19th October to Friday 28th October 2011.

Our school is taking part in AppleQuest 2011! AppleQuest is an initiative of the NSW Farmers’ Association—a not-for-profit organisation that represents farmers and the farming industry of NSW.

Throughout AppleQuest our school will receive 300 apples for our students as well as educational info and activities to promote the benefits of healthy eating and learn where our food comes from.

To encourage students to eat Aussie Apples, AppleQuest is implementing a classroom Honour Roll. The Honour Roll records students bringing apples to school during the course of the program. The students who eat the most apples will be rewarded with a prize. You can help your child by packing an apple in their lunchbox everyday.

You will be giving your child a healthy, nutritious snack that is high in antioxidants, dietary fibre and vitamin C, with a low glycemic index for long lasting energy.

Support you child as they munch, crunch and chomp their way through AppleQuest 2011!

It has been a few years since Bungendore had 4 representatives in the South Coast side for Athletics which is a great achievement! Cricket *Good luck to Lucy C who is attending the State Girls Cricket Championships in Armidale next week. Lucy was selected as a member of the South Coast team earlier this year and has been training weekends throughout the year with the team in preparation for the Championships. Volunteers Needed for School Fundraiser 31st January to 6th February 2012

During the week and weekend after our kids go back to school next year our town hosts the Bungendore Country Muster at the show ground. Each year Bungendore Public School par-ents and helpers clean the toilet and shower blocks at the Muster, not long or difficult work, but it is a BIG fundraiser for the School, last year we earned $5000.00 for this job. This money goes towards projects and resources at the school for the benefit of our kids. We need between 3 to 5 people per shift, and there are 15 shifts to cover; we supply all the cleaning products, gloves etc. It only costs you your time (approximately one hour each shift). It is never difficult work and the patrons of the muster are always happy and helpful. Once you have done a shift you realise it is an easy way to help the school with fund raising and most people end up doing a few extra shifts the next year. It would be great to see some new faces as it makes it easier on everyone, and more fun, if we can share the load. If you want to find out more call me on 0428 601 367 or email me at [email protected] or fill in the sheet below. Thank you in advance, Lorraine Oliver
