President Lalaine Policar called the meeting to order Saturday, 5/25 at 9:00am. Meeting held after Breed at the Mission Circuit Show Cluster.

NOTE: A quorum was present.
MEMBERS PRESENT: Cristian Periano, Adrian & Michelle Quesada, Cindy Liebeck, Dennis LoPresti, Bonnie Johnson.

MINUTES OF THE LAST MEETING: Kathy H. made a motion to accept the April meeting minutes, Kay 2nd,
motion passed.
TREASURER’S REPORT: (Kathy Hairston): Balance is $20,404.00 as of 5/242019.
CORRESPONDENCE RECEIVED BY SECRETARY: Received a letter from AKC regarding the proposed changes to the Ani-
mal Welfare Act (AWA) regulations. Received a letter and information packet regarding the BCA Div III elec-
tion rules from the Division Secretary. Will be discussed in New Busi-ness.

AKC Delegate (Link Newcomb) No report.
AKC Education (Kathy Gray) No report.

COMMITTEE REPORTS (cont.):
BCA Representative (Lesley Dehaas) Link updated all with Division III news; the upcoming elections for the
2020-2021 term and the recently held Division generic show at Ventura.
Bullpup (Scott Johnson) Scott is still looking for a replacement for the Editor position.
Futurity & Breeder’s Match (Sherian Evans) Sherian reported we still need your entry applications. The Matches will
be held with the October general club meeting. The Club nominated and voted the following as the Judges; Sergio
Yazid (Futurity) and Brad Hooper (Breeders).
Challenge Trophy (Lesley DeHaas) No report. The Board and Membership are looking for an update on the perpetual
trophies. Lesley to be contact for a report at the September meeting.
Champion Awards (Scott Johnson) Nothing to new report. Will send out another reminder to the member-
ship the NEW deadline to submit no later than October 30th.
Fun Match (Brenda Newcomb) No report.
Membership (Scott Johnson) Membership were read and here are the totals: 128 total members 30 Lifetime, 16 Juniors, 12 New, 82 Active Members. We are still waiting for 22 members to renew.
Rescue Committee (Debra Munt) Nothing to report.
Social Media/Website (Sherry Webb) Our beloved Sherry has moved to greener pastures in Oregon. We wish
the best. So we are looking for a replacement to address our Social Media needs.

2019 Specialty (Dennis & Lalaine) An audit report was presented and read. Refer to the handout. Reported Income = $8,602.40 and Expenses = $8,925.26 for a total loss
of ($322.86). The major contributor to the loss was the Judges expense. See items in New Business to improve on for the 2020 Specialty.
OLD/UNFINISHED BUSINESS No new business items were depicted.
NEW BUSINESS Items to amend the Club’s Judge’s contract were made as follows;
Cap Judge’s Airfare to $500 & use closest Airport PCBC to pickup two nights Hotel of Club’s discretion. For the Sweeps Judge, PCBC will pickup one night hotel and the
Judge to provide their own air/ground transportation. Ridesharing permitted if PCBC cannot pickup. Area of no judging six moths prior to the Specialty to be expanded
to include Utah and Oregon. Motion by Kay to amend the Club’s Judges Contract wording as stated
above, seconded by Link, Motion passed. Other items to assist in bringing the Specialty into the Black will be:
Cut back on the amount of food from $700 to $500 in expense. Need suggested ways to boost the raffle. Continue to seek alternative sites. Two were mentioned and will be
reported on; 1) “Assistance League” - Kathy H. and “Chino Fair-ground Bldg” - Michelle Quesada.
To gain space during the show for exhibitors and crate space, setup the photo area AFTER Breed is completed.
*** Move our Specialty Judge nominations and voting to the January General meeting of the prior year. Example; 2021 Specialty nominated at the January 2020 meeting.
Post the Specialty Judge selection in the February Bullpup. All agreed to use the 2018 Centennial club aprons as 1st place class
prizes. Kathy, Scott and Willie to setup and date and time to clean out the
Club’s trailer.

NEW BUSINESS (cont)
Reviewed the BCA Division Election Rules and Procedures, specially Section 1, C, iii. Where a Division member club may nominate BCA indi-vidual member to any office or Councilor position.
Scott nominated Cristian Peirano for a Governor position. A resolution to this nomination was made to state the following; If this
nomination was the only one made for this position with no other Divi-sion member club making an additional nomination for this same posi-tion, PCBC will withdraw their nomination to avoid an expensive election process.
Motion by Link to accept this resolution, seconded by Lalaine, Motion passed.
The Club members in attendance voted on the nomination and Cristian will be added to the Election Slate.
BRAGS NETTED: $145.00 :-) MEETING ADJOURNED: Motion by Kathy H. to adjourn, seconded by Cristian, Meeting adjourned
at 10:56am. Motion passed.

Championship Award Rules
1. The recipient of the Champion Plaque must receive at least ten (10 points, including one (1) major in the following locations: San Luis Obispo County, Fresno County, Kern County, Tulare County, Kings County, all Southern California Counties, all shows put on by a Bulldog Specialty Club held in Division III, and the National Bull-dog Specialty no matter where held.
2. All legal owners and co-owners of the dog MUST be members of Pacific Coast Bulldog Club, Inc. in good standing at the time the required ten (10) points, including one (1) major are earned.
3. Those who apply for a plaque and do not meet the requirements will receive a Championship Certificate. All members who finish a Champion in the United States, regardless of locality, are entitled to a Championship Certificate and may apply for only the certificate by checking the appropriate box.
4. The Championship Award Application can be obtained from the Championship Award Chairperson or the Bullpup Editor.
5. The completed application must be submitted with a copy of the AKC Championship Certificate, the AKC Registration Certificate, and a 8x10 colored show photo or a good quality colored photo copy of the new champion no later than December 31st of the year prior to the Specialty Show to the Championship Award Chairperson. The photo will be retained as part of the permanent records of the Pacific Coast Bulldog Club, Inc.
6. The first plaque per recipient is free. Additional plaques maybe pur-chased at the time of application for $50 (fifty dollars). Check box at the bottom of the application form and enclose a check made out to P.C.B.C. with application and mail to the Championship Award Chairperson at the address below.
