“The Most Holy Virgin in these last times in which we live has given a new efficacy to the recitation of the Rosary to such an extent that there is no problem, no matter how difficult it is, whether temporal or above all spiritual, in the personal life of each one of us, of our families…that cannot be solved by the Rosary. There is no problem, I tell you, no matter how difficult it is, that we cannot resolve by the prayer of the Holy Rosary.” ~ Sister Lucia dos Santos (Fatima Seer)
Let nothing disturb you
Let nothing make you afraid
All things are passing
God alone never changes
Patience gains all things
If you have God

St. Teresa of Avila Feast Day: October 15th
Teresa lived in an age of exploration as well as political, social, and religious upheaval. It was the 16th century, a time of turmoil and reform. She was born before the Protestant Reformation and died almost 20 years after the closing of the Council of Trent.
The gift of God to Teresa in and through which she became holy and left her mark on the Church and the world is threefold: She was a woman; she was a contemplative; she was an active reformer.
As a woman, Teresa stood on her own two feet, even in the man’s world of her time. She was “her own woman,” entering the Carmelites despite strong opposition from her father. She is a person wrapped not so much in silence as in mystery. Beautiful, talented, outgoing, adaptable, affectionate, courageous, enthusiastic, she was totally human. Like Jesus, she was a mystery of paradoxes: wise, yet practical; intelligent, yet much in tune with her experience; a mystic, yet an energetic reformer; a holy woman, a womanly woman.
Teresa was a woman “for God,” a woman of prayer, discipline, and compassion. Her heart belonged to God. Her ongoing conversion was an arduous lifelong struggle, involving ongoing purification and suffering. She was misunderstood, misjudged, and opposed in her efforts at reform. Yet she struggled on, courageous and faithful; she struggled with her own mediocrity, her illness, her opposition. And in the midst of all this she clung to God in life and in prayer. Her writings on prayer and contemplation are drawn from her experience: powerful, practical, and graceful. She was a woman of prayer; a woman for God.
Teresa was a woman “for others.” Though a contemplative, she spent much of her time and energy seeking to reform herself and the Carmelites, to lead them back to the full observance of the primitive Rule. She founded over a half-dozen new monasteries. She traveled, wrote, fought—always to renew, to reform. In her self, in her prayer, in her life, in her efforts to reform, in all the people she touched, she was a woman for others, a woman who inspired and gave life.
Her writings, especially the Way of Perfection and The Interior Castle, have helped generations of believers.
In 1970, the Church gave her the title she had long held in the popular mind: Doctor of the Church. She and St. Catherine of Siena were the first women so honored.

St. Teresa of Avila Prayer Lord, grant that I may always allow myself to be guided by You, always follow Your plans, and perfectly accomplish Your Holy Will. Grant that in all things, great and small, today and all the days of my life, I may do whatever You require of me. Help me respond to the slightest prompting of Your Grace, so that I may be Your trustworthy instrument for Your honor. May Your Will be done in time and in eternity by me, in me, and through me. Amen.

October Prayer Intention: In Support Of Life
Remember, O Lord, all those whose lives have been taken unjustly: infants in the womb the elderly and infirm and the lives of those taken through violence. Strengthen our resolve to show by our words and actions that every human life is cherished and willed by God; Give us
the wisdom and strength to build a culture of life by embracing our mission as messengers of God's love.
Modesty Reveals Holiness Modesty in dress reveals a modesty and godliness of the heart, attitudes that should be the desire of all men and women who live to please and honor God. We ask all members of Our Lady of Lebanon to dress modestly when they step into God’s house. Please no shorts, sleeveless dresses, miniskirts, or T-shirts. Thank you for your consideration of this friendly reminder.
On the Feasts of Saints Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael Archangels, The Holy Father requested that the Prayer to St. Michael, written by Leo XIII, be recited by all the faithful during the month of October:
Saint Michael Archangel, defend us in battle, be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil; may God rebuke him, we humbly pray; and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all evil spirits who prowl through the world seeking the ruin
of souls. Amen.
October 20th: World Mission Sunday The second collection next week is for World Mission Sunday. Propagation of the Faith; seeking prayer and support for pastoral and evangelizing programs of mission from high school and college students to adults.

Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church
Feast Day for St. Ignatius of Antioch Thursday, October 17, 2019
“But pray unceasingly also for the rest of men, for they offer ground for hoping that they may be converted and
win their way to God. Give them an opportunity therefore, of becoming your disciples. Meet their angry outbursts with your own gentleness, their boastfulness with your
humility, their revilings with your prayers, their error with your constancy in the faith, their harshness with your
meekness; and beware of trying to match their example.”
A beautiful way to honor and remember those you keep in
your hearts. Support your loved ones in their times of need as
well as their times of celebrations!
