40 DAYS FOR LIFE CAMPAIGN
Tuesday, October
25th will be our final parish day to participate in the 40 Days for Life Campaign here in Chester County. There is a sign-up sheet in the narthex of the church with hours from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. We are asking at least two parishioners for each hour to sign up and pray for an end to abortion, whether in our own chapel or at Planned Parenthood in West Chester (8 S. Wayne Street). This has been a very successful campaign since its inception in 2004. Over 7,000 babies’ lives have been saved, hundreds of abortion clinics have closed down and 83 workers have left to support the culture of life. SAFE HARBOR MEALS
Safe Harbor in West Chester provides shelter, food and other services to individuals in need. Pumpkin Day with Math and Science
The first grade class at St. Max Parish School enjoyed a fun morning
exploring pumpkins while also enriching their math and science skills.
Many stations were set up in the multipurpose room with different
activities at each station. A few stations consisted of students using a
tape measure to check and compare the circumference of pumpkins.
They also measured the pumpkins height with stacking cubes. A scale
was used to count out the number of small plastic bears it took to
balance the weight of a small pumpkin.
Pre-K 3 year old class made Pumpkin Scented Cloud Dough as part
of their Autumn celebration. The students used their senses noting
the pumpkin pie spice smell, orange color and squishy texture as
they poured in the ingredients and mixed this soft dough. They let
their imaginations loose as they created mini sculptures with the
dough.
The Pre-K 3 year olds joined the Pre-K 4 year old class on a group
trip to Ramsey Farm. Parents were invited along and the beautiful
weather helped make it a fun day for all.

THE KOLBE CLUB PRESENTS THE PHILLY POPS
Join us for a day trip to Philadelphia, with the highlight being a Christmas performance of the world-renowned Philly Pops at the Kimmel Center. This excursion is planned for Friday, December 16, 2016. We will leave St. Maximilian Kolbe Church at 11:30 AM. After taking in the Comcast Experience Video wall, we will arrive at the Kimmel Center at 2:30 PM, awaiting the 3:00 PM show. At 5:30 PM we will depart the Kimmel Center and head to the JNA Institute of Culinary Arts for dinner. Meal choices are penne pasta, chicken piccata or baked pollock. All entrees include a tossed salad, fresh bread and butter, coffee, tea, iced tea and house-made gelato and cookie for dessert. A cash bar with beer and wine will also be available. We anticipate returning home at approximately 9:00 PM.
Cost for this trip is $160. A minimum of 25 passengers is needed by October 26, 2016 or the trip will be canceled. Rebates will be offered if there are 30 or more passengers.
