8th FAI European Championship for Soaring Model Aircraft (F3J) will be organised by AEROKLUB KRANJ on behalf of Aeronautical Assosiation of Slovenia from 21st to 27th August on Sport airfield Bovec. 1. LOCATION
Sport airfield Bovec is situated in the main flat part in Bovec basin which is the biggest valley in the upper flow of the river Soča in the north-western part of Slovenia. The spot can be reached easily, Tarvisio in the north (the motorway Villach (A) – Udine (I)) across the Predel mountain pass is 31 km far, Nova Gorica (motorway Ljubljana – Gorizia – Palmanova) in the south is 74 km of good local road far. 2. 5. COMPETITION RULES The 1st January 2011 Edition Sporting Code with applicable amendments will be applied. Protest fee: A protest have to be written down on a paper and the deposit of a protest fee (35 €) must be payed. The deposit is returned only if the protest is upheld.
6. OFFICIAL LANGUAGES English and Slovenian will be official languages. 7. ANTIDOPING If a competitor has to take any of the substances listed on the WADA Prohibited list for his medical condition, then he (she) must have a Therapeutic Use Exemption from the FAI.
8. TIME SCHEDULE 18th August Arrival and unofficial traning at the airfield 19th and 20th August 18th Alpine cup F3J (max. 120 competitors) 21st August Registration, model processing and Team manager miting
Opening Ceremony in Bovec 22nd to 26th August Competition flights and fly-off 27th August Fly-off flights, Prizegiving Ceremony, Banquet Daily the competition fligts will go on between 9:00 and 19:00. 9. NATIONAL TEAMS Each team may consist of: − team managers (1 for both or 2 for separated senior and junior team) − 3 senior competitors − 3 junior competitors (age limit 18 years in 2011) − official helpers and suporters FAI valid sporting licences will be checked for each competitor and team manager. The reigning senior and junior Europian Champion can participate, if they are not members of the national team. 10. ENTRY FEES − team manager: 250 € − senior competitor: 250 € − junior competitor: 150 € − helpers and supporters: 50 € The preliminary form is attached at the end of Bulletin nr. 1 or on our official website. 11. DEADLINES − preliminary entry form: 28th February 2011 − official entry form with competitor’s names: 30th April 2011 − receipt of all entry fees: 30th April 2011

For entry fees received later than 30th April must be payed an additional 10% penalty, for entry fees received later than 31st May must be payed an additional 20% penalty. Payment on the arrival day or just before competition is not possible.
12. MEALS The organiser will serve lunch on the airfield, the price is 10 €/meal. Drinks and collations will be served on the field during the Championsip. The price for banquet is 40 €/person. 13. LODGING Booking of board & lodging all acomodation is on national teams, they must do this on their own. The accomodation is available in hotels (Alp, Kanin, Dobra vila), apartments in Bovec and surroundings and numerous autocamps. There is a lot of apartment houses in Bovec and villages nearby, the biggest apatment area is Kaninska vas in Bovec. Winners will receive FAI medals, FAI diplomas and the organisers awards for first, second and third place.
