Dear Parents/Caregivers, This term has flown by and we now find ourselves with two weeks holiday before the very busy last term for 2014. Next term, in Week 4 we welcome a team from the Education Review Office, who will spend the week with us and give us valuable feedback about our school, in comparison to other New Zealand schools. We are looking forward to having them with us and will be looking for parents to speak to them about the experience families have had at our school. We had hoped to commence our Walk and Wheel Travelwise program, with children being dropped off at Wairere from the first day of next term, but we have not as yet received the support items to kick this off. Please keep an eye out on your school App and our website and Facebook page, for information about this launch going ahead on the first day of term. Further on in this newsletter, is evidence of our staff vs students netball game which took place at lunchtime. I would like to say the staff were victorious. I would like to say it, but sadly, I don’t think that would be accurate. The only positive I can find from the thrashing the staff took, was that our PE program must be excellent to produce skills like that!! (or our staff are getting old and unfit???) Also today, was the PTA/GST sausage sizzle. Thanks so much to everyone that supported this and thanks to the ladies who cooked and organised this for us. So, for the next two weeks, enjoy having your children home with you and have a safe and happy holiday.
