ISSUE NO. 27 DATE: 29th AUGUST, 2014
HELLO FROM THE PRINCIPAL!
Dear Parents/Caregivers,
You will have seen our advertisements for uniform embroidery and we are trying very hard at school to make sure uniform items are clearly named and find their way back to the original owner. If your child needs to wear a non-uniform item, please send a note along to school and we will happily provide a uniform pass. We have talked about this in assembly and students are well aware of this expectation.
We have also reminded the children that if a parent does not arrive to collect them from school, they should come back to the office, where we can keep an eye on them. In this way, we are working with you to ensure the kids are safe until they are delivered back into your care.
On our TV at the top of the admin stairs, there is a new power point with lots of photos from the school cross country. You may have to stand there for some time to see your own child, but we managed to get an image of most of our students.
You might have recently seen on the Stuff website a school celebrating the introduction of their school App. The 335 of you who have already downloaded ours would know that you’re ahead of the game and are up to date with what is going on at TGS! Go technology!!
Have a happy weekend, see you on the first day of spring.

GENERAL NOTICES:
UNIFORM EMBROIDERY:Our machine is up and running and we have started naming uniform items. We are currently naming PE Gear and the black polar-fleece jacket. Cost is $1 per 3 letters/symbols, per item of clothing. This is a fantastic way to keep track of your child’s uniform and we are keeping a record of which combination of letters/symbols belong to each child, meaning uniform can still be handed down to a sibling or another student once it is outgrown.
Slips are available from the school office, please complete these and return with payment - we will call for your child’s uniform when it is needed.
Thank You to Melissa Sutherland who has given her time to embroider uniforms, we appreciate your help!
