Specialist Coaching with Chance to Shine

The children in year 6 are getting a ‘Chance to Shine’ through cricket coaching provid-

ed by the programme of that name. The children will be benefiting from teaching by a

qualified coach. We hope they will take full advantage and maybe go on to participate

in the school club or join one of the local cricket clubs.

Netball Success

Congratulations to our netballers who received their medals this week for their terrific

performance in the New Forest League. The commitment shown by all the players in the squad

bodes well for the future. The photograph shows our ‘B’ team with their certificates and the ‘A’

team with their medals.

A Testing Week!

Along with the vast majority of pupils in their age

group across the country our year 6 children will

be sitting their national assessment tests next week.

They are very well prepared and some are even

looking forward to them!

A big thank you to Mrs. Fisk—the school cook and

governor- who will be prepar-

ing breakfasts for the chil-

dren at no cost. And also to

Max Thurnell-Read’s parents

who have made a significant

donation to the school to pay

for the food.

Aren’t we lucky to have such supportive people in

our school community?

Please can you ensure that your child’s name

is clearly and permanently written in their

items of clothing?

We are now using the field regularly for play

and the recent lovely sunshine has meant that

lots of items of uniform are lost and, without a

name, it makes life tricky.

Thank you.

Talking Mental Health

Many thanks to the Year 5 parents who joined us for

discussions around Mental Health. It is so important

that we discuss and share our ideas on this and it

was very good to work with parents.

Constructive Parent Views are crucial to us and help

us to do the best we can for the children. You should

receive today an analysis of the Parent Question-

naire held in March alongside

our response to it.

Working together, we do

better!
