The Bukhair Mowing Company appreciates the opportunity to respond to the Request for Proposal by the city of Augusta, Oregon. Our Company would like to thank the entire City Council for giving our proposal a chance to earn the Job.
Our Proposal will answer all the questions that the City Council Members have. Our proposal will leave no doubt that our Company is fully qualified to handle the job at hand.

Background
Bukhair Mowing Company was established in 1989. The Family owned and operated mowing
business began operations in Augusta, Oregon. Our company has grown to over 500 employees,
and now spans across the entire state of Oregon. Our company knows the terrain and the people
of Oregon very well. Our company knows the city of Augusta very well since it is where our
business first started. This would be a welcomed homecoming for our business. All of our
employees have a high school diploma, and have been subject to background checks.

The StaffThere will be five crew members that will work this summer in Augusta. They are more than qualified to handle any job, and have been begging me to give them the job. They all were born and raised right here in Augusta, Oregon. We don’t want the Council members to have any doubts with these five men. Below is a description of each person, and a way to contact each one if you have any questions.
Matt Morgan (Mower) – Born in 1985 has been with the company for five years. Matt is certified to drive all of the heavy machinery our company uses. To contact Matt e-mail [email protected]
Andrew Pope (Mower) - Born in 1984 has been with the company for six years. Andrew is certified to drive all of the heavy machinery our company uses. To contact Andrew e-mail [email protected]
Zach Davis (Head Supervisor) - Born in 1980 has been with the company for 10 years. Zach is certified to drive all of the heavy machinery our company uses. Zach attended a two year leadership course at Oregon University. To contact Zach e-mail [email protected]
Brenton Onofre (Supervisor) - Born in 1982 has been with the company for seven years. Brenton is certified to drive all of the heavy machinery our company uses. Brenton has taken one year of leadership training at Oregon Junior College. To contact Brenton e-mail [email protected]
Blake Tanner (Mower) - Born in 1986 has been with the company for four years. Blake is certified to drive all of the heavy machinery our company uses. To contact Blake e-mail [email protected]
All of our employees are required to take monthly drug tests. These are public record feel free to call and we will send you whatever you need.
We have two leaders on each crew to ensure an effective line of command in case the Head Supervisor is sick for a couple of days.

EquipmentOur Company spares no expense when it comes to the equipment that we use. The more efficient the equipment the more efficient our company will be. There are several types of mowing in this proposal and this requires special treatment.
Golf Course:
(For the Golf Course we will use the John Deere 35X)

Park and Highway:
The YellowBird 5000 is the best in the business when it comes to Commercial Mowing.
These arms allow our mowers to maneuver in the tough Oregon terrain.
Precision Work:
Our High end Stihl Weed eaters can cut the tough areas of grass with ease.

Transportation:
Our team will use two brand new Ford F250’s to travel from site to site.
These F250 will be carrying the equipment in these trailers. This protects the equipment from being destroyed in bad weather.

CostsThe cost of this project would end up being $100,000. This may not be the lowest offer that you will receive, but it’s the safest. We guarantee that this will be the final cost no matter what happens during the summer. We take care of our own equipment and will pay for any repairs that take place during the summer.
The estimated cost to break even for the summer between May 30, 2009 and September 30, 2009 is $80,000.
Gas for the equipment and the trucks is $5,000
String for the Weed eaters $2,500
Sharpening of the mower blades $2,500
Cost of Labor $70,000
Total $80,000
This leaves $20,000 for possible repairs on our equipment. Our Company pays our workers better than the competition. This results in satisfied workers who in turn put out an outstanding product.
In a Companywide survey 98% of our employees said they were extremely satisfied with their wages.
Our Competitors Rates:
Company A- $80,000 – prices subject to change if the equipment fails
Company B - $95,000- Have practically the same offer, but pay their employees less. They seek a bigger profit margin at the expense of their workers
Company C - $120,000 – Include all of the perks that come with Bukhair Mowing Company, but would cost you $20,000 extra.

Work ScheduleThe schedule will be completed on time right along with the Schedule listed below. If inclement weather prevents the crew from working one day those areas will be mowed ASAP. All of the grass will be cut each week unless a monsoon hits Augusta this summer. Our employees will be taking a one hour lunch break Monday-Thursday.
Augusta Memorial Golf Course:
Monday-Wednesday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Our company has researched the number of Green Fees sold each day and Monday through Wednesday is consistently the lowest traffic times. This way our mowers will be seen by the fewest number of golfers possible.
Willoughby Park:
Thursday 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Friday 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Observation of Willoughby Park for the last month show that the traffic flow at the park increases by 75% after noon on Fridays.
Route 24:
Saturday 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Augusta is a commuter town to nearby Big, Oregon. The traffic on Saturday is drastically decreased from the Monday-Friday traffic flow.
The employees will be given off on all National Holidays including July 4th

Safety RulesBukhair Mowing Company places extreme focus into the safety of its employees and the people they are working around. Each location will require special rules and regulations to prevent any accidents from occurring.
General Safety Rules:
Always wear a hard hat while working. When the group decides to take a lunch everyone must stop. Stay as far away from people as possible. If a pedestrian wonders within a 15 feet perimeter of you shut down your equipment! Safety vests are to be worn at all times.
Special Regulations for Augusta
Cages must be put on the mowers at the Golf Course. In Willoughby Park the mowing perimeter must be coned off. Flashing signs must be put up on Route 24 to inform drivers of the workers.
Bukhair Mowing Employees make sure to put on their safety equipment before work.
