COMMITTEE REPORTS Marketing Committee Chair is Topher Ruxton Our marketing for 2018 will be more visually pleasing, which includes creating videos for use on Facebook and website. Something our members could also share with potential clients, or to attain more members. We have also connected with Skagit Breaking to have them install a “Find a Pro” button on their website that links to our “Find a Pro” section on SICBA.org and they will start promoting SICBA on their Facebook page as well. The NEW Find A Pro in Skagit & Island Counties Group on Facebook is designed for you to promote projects or jobs your company is working on, give words of praise to other SICBA Members you have done business with or highlight products and services your company offers, to consumers in Skagit & Island Counties. This group is public, but only SICBA Members will be allowed to post to the group. Our next committee meeting is January 11th at noon in the SICBA office. We would love to have more Members join our committee! The more creative minds the better and we serve pizza for lunch during our meeting! Membership Committee Chair is Roy Mureno Happy New Year from the Membership Committee! Our retention remains high at 88.7%, well above our goal for 2017 of 80%. We still need to recruit to keep our numbers up, so if you’re working with someone who is not a SICBA member, talk to them about the benefits of membership and invite them to join! If you’re not sure where to start the conversation, here are 3 questions to get it started:

Are you a member of a trade association?

Does your company offer health insurance?

Is your company enrolled in a retro program?

As we get ready for our membership drives going into 2018, we need sponsors for our reward events this year. Day at the Races was a success last year and we’ll be doing it again this year. And, of course, the Peer to Pier Cruise. Best of luck in 2018! Home Show committee Chair is Dave Hillman We are only a few months away from the 38th Annual SICBA Home & Garden Show. There are a few booth spaces available, so if you’d like to join us and get your business and services in front of 4,000+ people, be sure to sign up ASAP! We have many sponsorship opportunities for the show still available and need to get those filled right away to maximize your sponsorship. If you are interested in having a presence at the show, but can’t have a booth this year, call Lianna for sponsorship availability. 360-488-4079. Our next committee meeting is January 18th. Please consider joining this committee as this is our largest community event and all ideas and help are welcome! Events Committee Chair is Kim Piazza Happy New Year! Our next committee meeting will be January 23rd at noon in the SICBA office. We will be starting to plan the 2018 monthly events for SICBA Members and would love you to attend our meeting and join the committee. Our monthly member meetings are for YOU, the Members, and we would love your input on what types of events you’d like.

2017 Christmas and Installation Dinner at the La Conner Yacht Club was a lot of fun. SICBA’s new leadership for 2018 was installed by Kevin Russell, 2018 BIAW President. Lots of fun was had by all and the food was wonderful. Thank you to all those who sponsored this event and to all who attended.
