HOW THE LCP WORKS
You qualify for the Legislative Circle Program by contributing dollars to both an Endorsed Candidate and to the AALU PAC.
THERE ARE FOUR QUALIFICATION LEVELS
You must meet the criteria of one of the qualification levels outlined below to qualify for the Legislative Circle Program:

Examine the Endorsed Candidates profiles in the following pages and select the candidate(s) you wish to support. Contributions must be sent directly to the candidate either by mail with a personal check or online with a personal credit card.
If you are mailing a personal check, be sure to write “AALU” in the memo portion of the check.
STEP 3: NOTIFY THE AALU STAFF OF YOUR LCP CONTRIBUTIONS
There are two ways to notify the AALU staff of your LCP contributions: Fax copies of your contributions (or web payment confirmation if contributing online) to Karla Kirk at (202) 742-4479.

FEDERAL ELECTION GUIDELINES
Individuals can contribute, but not exceed, $2,400 per candidate per election ($2,400 in the primary election and $2,400 in the general election). If you do not designate which election your contribution is intended, it will automatically be applied to the candidate’s upcoming primary election, or if that has passed, the candidate’s general election. Please make sure that you do not exceed more than $2,400 per election or your check will be returned by the candidate.
Individuals can contribute but not exceed $5,000 per calendar year to any Political Action Committee (PAC). This applies to AALU PAC, the Freedom Project, and AMERIPAC.
All individual contributions to Federal candidates are subject to a $115,000 aggregate limit for the two-year election cycle, with $45,600 reserved for contributions to candidates; and $69,900 reserved for contributions to parties and PACs, of which no more than $45,600 may be given to entities other than national political party committees.
Corporations are prohibited by federal law from making contributions to federal candidates and/or political action committees. In contrast, a contribution by a sole proprietorship or partnership is treated as an individual contribution. Political contributions are not deductible for federal income tax purposes.
IMPORTANT NOTE
Several Senate candidates being endorsed in 2010 were also endorsed in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009. If you made a contribution to Senators Reid, Baucus, Conrad, Crapo, Ensign, Hatch, Wyden or Grassley since 2006, make sure that your total contributions to each of those candidates do not exceed $4,800.
Several House members are also being endorsed again in 2010 were also endorsed in 2010. If you have made a contribution to Boehner, Cantor, Camp, Frank, Kind, Neal, Ryan, Tiberi, or Van Hollen be sure that your total contributions to each of those candidates do not exceed $4,800.
