DESCRIPTION
The San Diego Community College District’s (SDCCD) construction bond program, funded by voter-approved Proposition S, a $685 million bond passed in 2002, and Proposition N, an $870 million bond passed in 2006, is providing for new, state-of-the-art instructional and career training facilities, major renovations, public safety and accessibility enhancements, parking, and campuswide infrastructure projects at City, Mesa and Miramar Colleges, and six Continuing Education campuses.

The project includes a six‐level parking structure with 400+ stalls.

New three‐story, 50,000 square‐foot provides training facilities and classroom space for degree and certificate programs for five healthcare fields: Dental Assisting, Health Information Technology, Medical Assisting, Physical Therapy Assistant and Radiologic Technology.
The project is currently tracking LEED Gold.

The 7,000 square‐foot station include a waiting area, offices, conference room, a secure suspect processing area, and a locker room area outfitted with daylight‐harvesting fixtures and waterless and low‐flow plumbing fixtures. Awarded LEED Gold.

The new 1,100‐space, four‐level parking structure is part of East Campus Improvement Project that also includes a complete road realignment. Photovoltaic panels will be installed on the top level to harvest solar energy, offsetting the energy needs for the new police station and the new Allied Health building.

Renovation includes new artificial turf, an all‐weather synthetic track, an upper field event area, and ADA‐compliant pedestrian ramp and restroom facilities. The renovation will also include retaining walls, concrete, fencing and utilities for athletic field events.

The new four‐story, 85,000 gross square feet building will include new facilities for student services, including Admissions, Financial Aid, Evaluations and Testing, Counseling, Student Government, Disabled Student Services, and Information and Outreach. The facility will include classrooms, conference areas, a café, and a new express elevator between the lower parking lot and the upper campus.

A new, two‐story, 38,930 SF facility that serves as the Campus of Excellence for Hospitality and Consumer Sciences. It includes a spacious multi‐purpose room that can serve as a classroom space or serve as a venue for performances or special events. Certified LEED Gold.
