THE WORLDWIDE STANDARDIn order to transfer control data to all building management components, a system is required that does away with the problems of isolated devices by ensuring that all components communicate via one common language: in short, a system such as the manufacturer and application domains independent KNX Bus. This standard is based upon more than 24 years of experience in the market, amongst others with predecessor systems to KNX: EIB, EHS and BatiBUS. Via the KNX medium to which all bus devices are connected (twisted pair, radio frequency, power line or IP/Ethernet), they are able

to exchange information. Bus devices can either be sensors or actuators needed for the control of building management equipment such as: lighting, blinds / shutters, security systems, energy management, heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems, signalling and monitoring systems, interfaces to service and building control systems, remote control, metering, audio / video control, white goods, etc. All these functions can be controlled, monitored and signalled via a uniform system without the need for extra control centres.

The M-FCU01.10 module has two selectable functions, the first being FCU control, and the second being floor heating control. In total the module has 7 channels, and is able to control fan speed, mode, air-conditioner temperature, and floor heating/cooling.

The HDL KNX M/S04 supports 4 Dry Contact input channels, coupled with a temperature sensor, and can output 4 dimming channels or provide LED status indication. The module is able to support three work modes that enable a diverse range of targets to be controlled.

HDL KNX Universal Interface, 4-fold, FM

Sensor control mode enables 4 dry contact channels, or 4 temperature channels, to connect to other devices and control them. 4 channels of LED indicators outputs show the status.Logic control mode enables 4 logic input channels with AND, OR & NOT logic relations to control various targets. LED indicators outputs show the status of the 4 channels. Dimming control mode enables the manual input of 4 channels and 4 dimming channels output. These channels work with a 0-10V dimmer to control various lighting devices.

As a DMX recorder the module has the ability to record scenes from DMX resources, and then play the scene back enabling the control of various DMX devices, such as moving head lighting, and LED lighting etc. The unit can automatically record, play, or delete files, and has single play or repeat play modes.

The DMX Recorder has three work modes, DMX recorder mode, DMX dimming( EIB to DMX) mode and DMX to EIB(1bit,1byteData Point) mode. Support recording from DMX line or Art-Net, DMX recorder mode can store and playback 24 programs. The time of each program can reach 4 hours. DMX dimming mode supports Max. 48 channels of switching and dimming via EIB which allows you to control the DMX device from KNX system. DMX to EIB mode supports a Max. 48 channels of switching and absolute dimming via DMX signal. This allows you to control KNX system from DMX memory console.

Other functions include: DMX output for LED color changing, DMX dimming and Moving head, Laser and other DMX control. DMX input control functions for KNX include switch control, sequence control, scene control, Relative dimming, Absolute dimming.

HDL KNX Line Coupler, MDRC

The HDL KNX M/LCR.1 serves as a signal bridge between the KNX mainline and Sub line, or between the mainline and backbone line. Both lines employ galvanic isolation, this ensures that the unit is protected from potential short circuits and corrosion. The module can serve as both a signal amplifier, and a filter for communications traffic.

HDL-M/LCR.1, line coupler/Repeater is coupling a KNX-TPmainline with a KNX-TP-sub line. It provides galvanic isolation between the two connected lines. The coupler can be used as a line coupler to connect a line to a main line or as a backbone coupler to connect a main line to a backbone line. The main task of M/LCR.1 is filtering the traffic according the installation place in the hierarchy or according to the built in filter tables for group oriented communication.

The HDL KNX M/USB.1 enables a HDL KNX system to utilize a USB interface. The USB interface is able to support the setting of addresses, system parameters, and aid in system commissioning. The devices which are connected to the system can be diagnosed via a PC that utilizes ETS or EITT software. (Other software which is handled by the FALCON driver can also be diagnosed.)

The M/USB.1 is a KNX-USB interface for galvanic isolated bidirectional access to the bus line via integrated USB connector for: Commissioning, Addressing, Setting parameters, Visualisation, Protocol , Diagnostic operations on bus devices. With this KNX-USB interface, you have the possibility to address every bus device in the bus system. The communication protocol is used for communication between the PC, USB interface and KNX BUS TP1. The connection between KNX and PC running standard software like ETS, EITT and other software is handled by the FALCON driver.
