Supervision QP’s Independence
PENALTY FOR CONTRAVENTION
Duties of QP (Design) take all reasonable steps & due diligence
to ensure structural design is in accordanceto Building Regulations
notify Commissioner of any contravention
supply approved plans to QP (Supervision),site supervisor and builder
keep record of departures & deviationsfrom approved plans
Duties of QP (Design)
submit site investigation reports forfoundation or earthworks
provide retaining wall to stabilize slopeor embankment
submit soil investigation reports fordetermination of soil water table
supervise and inspect structural works toensure they are carried out in accordancewith Building Regulations
notify Commissioner of any contravention
apply for permit to commence works
notify Commissioner if works suspendedfor more than 3 months
Duties of QP (Supervision)
keep & maintain site records (Reg 22)
1) quarterly schedule of structural works2) site & attendance record3) copy of approved structural plans4) record of all the departures or deviations5) inspection record and concreting approval6) record of defective structural works repairs7) soil investigation and soil test report8) piling & pile load tests record9) various tests record
Duties of QP (Supervision)
submit reports & certificates (required under Reg 23)
1) quarterly schedule of structural works2) quarterly progress reports3) notice of completion of piling works, record piling plan and certificate of supervision within 28 days of completion4) certificate of supervision of structural works
Duties of QP (Supervision)
provide provisions to prevent damageto adjacent properties due to lowering ofwater table
inspect basement excavations to ensuresafe condition is maintained
provide to Commissioner details ofinstrumentation for settlement and groundmovement monitoring
Duties of QP (Supervision)
direct & supervise all construction testsrelated to materials used and structuralworks, including the taking of all samplesfor testing
notify Commissioner on failure of testsand together with QP (Design) recommendremedial measures
Duties of QP (Supervision)
Site Supervisor appointed by QP (Supervision)
works under QP (Supervision)’s
control & direction
required to be independent of the builder
