Building Automation System Technician Job Description  

FMC Technologies, Inc. is an integrator of intelligent Building Automation Systems (automatic temperature control, access control, lighting and energy management) primarily serving clients in eastern Massachusetts.  We work with facility owners, architects, engineers, contractors and management companies to create innovative solutions tailored to meet the unique needs of our customers.   

The BAS Technician will interface with customers and contractors to install and service our client’s Building Automation Systems.  This includes project start‐up and commissioning, service (routine or emergency) and preventative maintenance.  We are currently seeking someone with previous BAS programming experience including the Niagara based products.   

Responsibilities:  

Startup and commissioning of complete Building Automation Systems. 

Work closely with our installation subcontractors and coordinate work with them to ensure projects are completed on time and per code, standards and contract requirements. 

Perform a point to point checkout per standard procedures. 

Perform software/hardware calibration required for proper equipment and system operation. 

Complete project commissioning documentation. 

Maintain on‐going project as‐built documentation.  Requirements:   

2 ‐ 4 year technical degree and/or industry related technical field experience including HVAC Systems, DDC Systems, software and device calibration.  

Knowledgeable in DDC applications pertaining to the HVAC industry.  

Ability to visit job construction hard hat areas and climb stairs, maneuver in and around pipework and air ducts and work safely in close proximity to exposed line voltage and low voltage wiring and terminations.  

Possess valid state motor vehicle license and possess safe driving record as required by company’s insurance carrier.  

Experience with BACnet and Niagara based products is preferred.
