Program Objectives:• Develop leadership skills in student-athletes • Utilize the multi-faceted talents of students:

– Information gathering– Technical expertise– Analytical skills– Creative / presentation abilities– Enthusiasm and hope for the future

• Develop a Strategic Vision/Action Plan for & with their communities.• Rally community to action so the implementation of the Vision/ Action Plan can make a difference.

Winning Communities Process:

• Student-athletes will convene community leaders, organizations, business people & citizens to get involved

• Mentored by local leaders, but will also show their abilities to lead themselves

• Will learn convening, speaking, statistics gathering, analyzing, writing, team building, promotional & other skills

Potential Student Activities:

• Research & Surveying of Citizens• Marketing / Public Relations to Encourage Attendance & Community Involvement• Event Planning / Logistics Coordination for Community Meetings• Writing & Graphic Design / Audiovisual for Vision/Action Plan Development & Presentations• Assist with Researching Grant Opportunities for Community Projects
