    Development in India

India today, stands at the door step of a double digit

growth in its economy It is poised and capable of being the hub of many

manufacturing & Services sectors like Automobile,Steel, Information Services, Food and Foodprocessing etc

Among the various manufacturing and productionrelated hubs that have potential to come up, the Food

    Mobile Ripening Just an IDEA!!

    there is a Railhead nearby

There is an opportuni ty to use the Indian Railways network

(largest in the world and touches the hinterland of India with

almost 90% coverage to vi llages and cities). We need to

leverage the network to build a mobile ripening for large

volume harvests l ike bananas. Journey days can be

anything from 2 days to 5 days. The same can be also usedto transport the fresh produce like Apples and carrots with

adjustments in RH and Temperature. Ideally a whole train of

say 10 to 15 wagons can be used for this type of

transportation (approx. payload will be 100 to 150 MT

equivalent to about 15 trucks at one time and well less thanthe time taken by road transport).
