The Dhammakaya Cetiya The symbol of world peace

Built entirely on international public contributions, it is also the embodiment of unity and love for mankind.

The dome-shaped Cetiya (stupa) is the hallmark of what has become the largest venue for mass meditation and prayers for Buddhists and peace-loving people of the world.

The Dhammakaya Cetiya is projected to accommodate 1,000,000 personal Buddha images.On the outer shell of the hemispherical dome and its spherical terraces, actually hold 300,000

Buddha images. Another 700,000 will be placed progressively in its interior.

Each of the individual personal Buddha image is built by donation. Doners may have their names inscribed on the base of the statue. Thus, the Dhammakaya Cetiya

is a witness of the world’s effort to help create world peace for mankind.

Men, women and children were joyfully planting pines around the Memorial Hall. The trees have now grown tall, providing shade and a refreshing sight for visitors.

Light of Peace

Buddhists and peace-lovers from various countries participated in the annual illumination ceremony on Maga Puja Day (the full-moon night of the third lunar month.)

The Great Memorial Hall of Phramongkolthepmuni

The Great Sapha Dhammakaya Hall Opposite to the Dhammakaya Cetiya is the Dhammakaya Assembly Hall, designed

to be a multi-functional, two-storied building for meditation, Dhamma lectures, religious activities, youth development training, and meeting venue for monks.

The upper level was designed to accommodate 150,000 people and the lower level for parking. Eventually if the number of attendants exceeds 150,000, the lower level may be converted

into a gathering place for another 150,000 people.

About 5,000 to 25,000 people attend the Sunday gathering for prayer and meditation sessions, and an average of 100,000-120,000 people join the temple’s religious activities onimportant events such as the Maga Puja Day and the Kathina Robe Offering Day.

The Dining Hall of Khun Yay Archaraya Chandra Khonnokyoong

Named after the founder of the DhammakayaTemple, the Dining Hall can seat up to 6,000 monks. The spacious dining hall is frequently used to welcome visiting monks and novices.

It also serves as a meeting venue for monks to chant together

Everyday, lay people come to enjoy offering food and refreshments to more than 1,200 monks and novices who reside at this temple. Among their offerings are other necessities

such as saffron robes, medicine, toiletries, blankets, lotuses & garlands and so on.

At 6.30 a.m. every day the resident monks at the temple will come here to chant the morning prayers together and have breakfast, and give blessings to the people who have come to offer sustenance.

The second and the last meal of the day is at 11:00 a.m.
