Bud Keene: AthleteHow Bud Got Started:In September of 1983, Bud moved to Stowe, Vermont, determined to become a world-class skier overnight. That dream quickly changed when he spotted Lowell Hart headed down the road with a wooden snowboard. As an early competitor in snowboarding, Buds hard work paid off. He made it into the winners circle on multiple occasions and earned coveted sponsorships from Sims and Burton.

As one of the first snowboarders at Stowe, Buds love of the sport and natural coaching abilities brought him further recognition. He and his colleagues quickly realized that he had a knack for bringing out the best in young racers.

Bud Keene : Coach (contd)Winter Olympics (2006):Hired as the Head Coach of the U.S. Halfpipe TeamLed the 2006 team to Torino and the most successful Olympic finish for any US Ski or Snowboard Team in history. With an 8 rider contingent, Keenes team earned two Gold medals (Shaun White and Hannah Teter), two Silver medals, two 4th places, a 6th place, and a 10th place.

Bud KeeneCoach (ContD)Winter Olympics (2010)After unprecedented success as the Head Coach of the U.S. Olympic Halfpipe Team in 2006, Bud headed to Vancouver for the 2010 Winter Games with a new focus: as Shaun Whites Personal Coach. Not surprisingly, Shaun won the Gold medal in dramatic fashion, posting the highest score ever in Olympic Halfpipe history. He continued on as Whites coach through the 2014 Winter Olympics.
