NationallyUnder the Liberal Democrats you would not have to pay tax on the first £10,000you earn. That would put £100 back into the pocket of pensioners, £700 back inthe pockets of anyone earning over £10,000 and£1,400 back in the pockets of a couple eachearning over £10,000.

LocallyEveryone knows how hard it has been recently. That is why the Liberal Democrats proposed a0% rise this year in the district council tax. The

Conservatives opposed this and used their majority to make us all pay 1.5% more. Whilst the Conservative-rundistrict and county councils put the council tax up, Lib Dem-run Buckhurst Hill Parish Council froze the counciltax. This means that local residents are paying the same as they did last year.

NationallyThe Liberal Democrats will invest in our schools. The extra funding will help reduce class si

sizes, improve discipline and develop one-to-one tuition. The Liberal Democrats havealso reaffirmed their pledge to axe tuitionfees.

LocallyThe Liberal Democrat-run parishcouncil knows how important goodquality local facilities are for our children. That is why they upgraded the playground in Roding Valley Recreation Ground and investedin a new ball court. They are now investing in new facilities at the King Place Playground.

Local Liberal Democrats haveinvested in facilities for our children.

Nick Clegg is pledging extra moneyfor our schools helping to reduce classsizes and develop one-to-one tuition.

Under the LiberalDemocrats you would notpay tax on the first£10,000 you earned. Thatis a tax cut of £700 a year.

NationallyThe Liberal Democrats will invest in public transport, begin a programme of home insulation andbuild new social housing. Liberal Democrats will support investment in greener energy sources. Theywill oppose more runways for Heathrow and Stanstead.

LocallyCouncillors Ann Haigh and Peter Spencer are urging residents to shop locally. `Our shopkeepersneed the support of residents at this difficult economic time,` Ann and Peter said. `Business rateshave been sharply increased and we need to think `SOS` -- Save Our Shops. It did not help in Januarywhen many residents could not reach Queens Road because their roads and pavements had notbeen gritted and Queens Road itself had not been given priority treatment.`

NationallyMore and more people are frustrated and disappointed about the way peoplein power have let us down. The Liberal Democrats are the only partycommitted to real change in our political system, flushing out big money andcorrupt donors and reducing the number of MPs by 150. The LiberalDemocrats would give you the right to sack your MP.

LocallyEpping Forest residents are angry that their local MP claimed for a secondhome when they commute daily into London. They are angry our MP profitedfrom her tax payers- funded second home. Residents have told us they are pleased to receive FOCUS all yearround. Councillors Ann Haigh, Jill Sutcliffe, Angela Cass and Joyce Darby are always on hand to help. Theylive in Buckhurst Hill and they stand up for local residents on the district and parish councils.
