This qualification is designed for OHS officer in a full-time dedicated role who works under the supervision of an OHS Coordinator or OHS Manager.

The demand for Safety Professionals in all businesses, but in particular the mining sector, is very strong as a company’s commitment to safety is closely linked to their insurance premiums. As a result this is a highly sought after qualification.

Pre-Requisites

Certificate III in OHS or extensivevocational experience in occupational health and safety roles such as:

• Health and Safety Representative • Health and Safety Committee Member • Health and Safety Assistant

If you don’t meet these criteria you can still apply for the course however entrance cannot be guaranteed.

What’sinvolved?

This is a face to face 12 day course that will cover all the practical skills and knowledge needed by an OHS Officer. You will be required to undergo both theory and practical assessments plus a post course assignment.

CostsandGovernmentFunding

The cost of the course is $2450 however you may be eligible for government funding which would provide either a significant reduction in course fees or even a fee free course depending on your circumstances. RecognitionofPriorLearning

If you are currently working in the OHS field and feel you can demonstrate the skills and knowledge of this qualification you are welcome to apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). RPL Cost $1195.
