I was born in Huntsville, AL and moved to Atlanta then to Minneapolis, MN when I was 7. I played hockey from age 7 through High School and into college in Wisconsin (still have all my teeth)! After College, I worked for the world’s largest logistics company, C.H. Robinson Worldwide which brought me to Jacksonville in 1990. I kept 2 boats here in Beach Marine’s Dry Stack. After 8 years I realized I was designed to work with boats and people! After I resigned from logistics in 1998, I began working for Boat Tree here at Beach Marine. I was the delivery Captain and liaison between our customers, service and sales departments. It was a perfect fitGood bye suit and ties…Hello khaki shorts and visors! Boat Tree sent me to get my Captains License in 2001 through BlueWater Maritime School. At this time I also Captained many yachts and boats here at Beach Marine and I still have a couple of yachts here that I care for as many of you see me attending to on my off days. When Boat Tree closed its doors in 2007 I became a full time delivery captain and shuttled private boats and yachts all over the South East and Bahamas. I have known the Taylor family many years and in working with Boat Tree and Captaining many boats from the marina and having the privilege of already working with so many of you, I knew I wanted to be a part of the Beach Marine family. This is truly a family and you, my/our customers are a huge part of that! I have a gorgeous Wife Tammie and 2 of the greatest kids (Team Reid) they are my driving force. I'm so thankful and blessed for them. I literally can't wait to get to the marina each day. I love it. Seeing all of you daily just makes it better! We are a very unique marina unlike most in the state; growing and offering more and more to our customers by the day. It's a pleasure to run the docks of this marina and serve all of you however I can. I feel that I have the best job in the world. Boats and people! Come by the fuel dock or stop me as I roam the marina! My goal is to make your experiences here at Beach Marine surpass your expectations. See you on the water! Credit Cards at Beach Marine Due to PCI compliance, we will no longer be able to store your credit card numbers on file at the fuel dock. You will need to have your credit card present for all transactions.

I know I have talked about this subject before and I think it is kind of a no brainer…TOWING INSURANCE! This is a must have for all boaters. A few boaters this boating season have gotten hit with $800.00 - $900.00 towing bills already and they probably think it is a must have now too when they realize how much money they could have saved! The years subscription is very reasonable compared to the small bank loan you’ll need to pay for the one day of boating fun without towing insurance. So after reading this newsletter you should contact one of the boat towing services and sign up A.S.A.P. Please do this well in advance for your next boating trip because the towing services will have a 24 to 48 hour window you can’t use after sing up. Happy boating…you’ll thank me later.

Summer is definitely upon us! The kids are out of school, the water warmed up, and boats are flying off the lot. Take advantage of the very few 2012 models that we have left in inventory. We are highly motivated to clear out space for the new

2014 model year boats that are on their way.

Boating Tip of the Month: Details

Detailing: Summer is here and we hope you are on the water

every weekend! Don’t forget about our flush and wash

program. Sign up at the dry stack or email us at

[email protected] to set up an appointment.

Our detailing department also offers wet sanding,

compounding, waxing, and chrome work that your boat may

need to look like new. Let us do the work while you play.

Notes from service: Maintaining your batteries so easy to

overlook -- but lead and acid need love, too. Fortunately,

taking care of your batteries is about as simple a seagoing

maintenance chore as there is, usually demanding little more

than visual inspection, add a little water and a quick wipe

down with a rag. If you choose to ignore your batteries one

day you’ll turn the key and hear not your engine roaring to life,

but only the slow groan of an underpowered starter motor.

You must use your boat to maintain voltage, for example

putting a new battery in your boat and then let sit for 4-6

months will shorten the life of batteries. Before you take

your boat out for the weekend call the service department

for a voltage test to make sure you are in good shape to

cruise the waterways.

Featured Product: INFLATABLE WATER TOYS

The weather is hot and what is more refreshing and fun than playing in the water! Your DockBox Ship Store now has inflatable water toys. There must be a think tank room at the manufacturing facilities to encourage the designers to capture their stream of consciousness ideas in design and names of these toys. Some of the toys are towable while others are to drift and relax. Some have built in holders for your favorite beverage and an inflatable cooler is available. If size matters to you, they range from the individual Hoopla

Swim Ring ($12.98) to the Fiesta Island ($469.98) for eight friendly people. Big Bertha ($159.98) and her sister Big Mable ($259.98) are inflated and on display in Your DockBox Ship Store. The Zip Ski ($79.98) promises Hot Action right on the front of the package. Put on a happy face and ride an inflatable. Unfortunately none qualify as a second home.

Inflating these toys need not take your breath away; we offer several alternatives to oral inflation. There are manual bicycle type, rechargeable electric, 12 volt, and shore power plug in pumps. Prices range from $19.98 to $49.98 USD.
