Week Commencing: 8 th June 2020 Monday: Look back at your work from last week and remind yourself of the story. On Thursday you thought of words to describe the castle in the sky. Today we are going to write sentences about it. Imagine you are Jack and you have climbed up to the top of the castle. I would start my writing with…I arrived at the top of the beanstalk and I couldn’t believe my eyes. I saw a beautiful castle floating on a cloud. I felt excited but nervous. TASK: Write a paragraph about the castle in the sky. Imagine that you are Jack. Make sure that you include all of your senses. Tuesday: In the story Jack sold his cow. Imagine that you have a cow to sell. Today you will create an advert to help sell your cow. You must include what it looks like, what it eats, how much you would like to sell the cow for and how we contact the seller. Task: Design your own advert to sell your cow. Make sure that you make it eye catching. Don’t forget to include a picture of your cow. Wednesday: Retell the story using your actions – you should be really confident by now. Today you are going to retell the opening, build up and problem of your story. Use your storyboard/map to help you. Task: Write your retell in your home learning book. Remember to use capital letters, full stops and good letter formation. You could ask a grown up to make you a word mat to help you spell keywords. Thursday Today you are going to write your resolution and ending of the story. Task: Read through your story so far. Continue writing until the end. Read through your finished piece and edit/improve it. Check that you have used capital letters and full stops. You could add an illustration if you would like to. Jack and the Beanstalk
