Literacy and English
Personal reading dailyChoose a book you enjoy reading at home, try to continue with the good habits we have formed at school by reading for at least 30 mins a day. It would be great if, during our ‘check in’ sessions each day you could share what you are reading personally. It’s always good to get recommendations from your friends and good for your teachers to find out which types of books you are most interested in.

ASSIGNMENTIt is your task to mark the sheets yourself. Look over your work afterwards and give yourself two stars and a wish (two areas you did well in and one you need to develop) and attach your comments as your assignment. We will use this to determine work we need to focus on in the coming weeks.
There is a Maths in context activity to get you started on Monday which is calculating costs of getting soldiers properly equipped for war. Look for the 3 levels of tasks in the class folder. Your teachers will be giving you daily activities in Maths this week, from Tuesday to Friday.

War had on people’s daily lives in Scotland.
This week we are looking at the declaration of War in Britian and thinking about the impact it had on people

you to do on the information you have read.https://kahoot.it/challenge/0766198?challenge-

ASSIGNMENTThen your challenge is to research one of the given
topics at the end of the PowerPoint and write down 10 key facts on that topic. Use your note taking and
research skills from last week to help you with this.
Art and Design: War Defences With the declaration of war, there was a necessity for defences to be erected across Europe. Britain had many coastal defences, being an island nation. Barbed wire is also often used in imagery to be a symbol of conflict. We will be focusing here on the use of barbed wire, for our art lesson. The images below might give you some inspiration, which will develop your use of perspective and sketching and shading techniques. (these images are also in larger format on a PowerPoint, along with some others) However, if you prefer to use different media, e.g. paints, pastels, collage…, feel free to do so. There will be video demonstrations posted on your class Team.
Modern Languages

GermanAgain, Charlotte will send us a pre-recorded lesson and we will post it on Teams when it arrives. Keep practising the vocabulary you have already learned.Revise:Week 1 - Wochentage
Science
When you are outdoors, in your garden or out for a walk, have a look for signs of seasonal changes. This might be snowdrops peeking through the soil, buds appearing on trees or animal tracks.
Your teacher will be setting up a page on the Class Notebook for you to share your ideas. You can make notes of what you’ve found and see if you can identify the plants, trees or tracks. You can make drawings and take photos too. It would be best to put those in the shared folder. (Learning Wall for 7B)
