All Streak

Receivers will run vertical attacking the inside shoulder

At 10 -12 yards the receiver must make a decision

Run deep or sit Even/ leave in Deep/ Creep, sit

Read Technique

Deep / Creep Receiver decides at 10 Sits at 16 Throw his hand up to alert the QB Comes down the stem

Play Action Passing/ Wing-t & Jet

Waggle -The waggle is the play action pass of the jet sweep or Buck. The Quarterback will fake the Jet/Buck while the receivers will run a 3-tiered route away from the action.

Waggle Solid - waggle solid is solid protection using the run and shoot rail route concept of vertically stretching the field.

Page 13: bruce cobleigh waggle solid

Advantages of the Waggle Solid

Vertically stretch the field Receivers read all routes Run & shoot principles fit with formations Stops invert coverage Backs the defense off Enhances the ability to run Jet Solid protection vs. blitz

Advantages of the Waggle

Run /Pass read Forces the defense to defend both the run

and the pass D gap counter away from flow Crashing defensive ends Pitch and catch throw

Page 28: bruce cobleigh waggle solid

Disadvantages of the Waggle

Everybody runs play Familiar to the defense Quarterbacks are reluctant to run Can throw to only ½ the field

Truck waggle

Truck waggle is the play action pass off the truck Force the defense to cover the jet motion back

at all times By running the jet back on the wheel and the

end vertically down the seam we can control invert coverage

Against a 4-3 defense with quarter coverage the secondary usually rolls back to the reverse motion. The Truck waggle will slow the rotation down and may free the motion man wheeling down the sideline. Remember, this is a pass run read so if the defends drop the quarterback must stress the defense by running.
