    1. INTRODUCTION

The Maersk Automated Rate System (MARS) is a suite of applications to storetariff and service contract prices for products and services of the Maerskcontainer businesses. The goal of MARS is to enable complete automation of theapplication of rates to shipments. MARS is an infrastructure system deliveringprices for requests from GCSS based on details from the MEPC product, customer information, cargo characteristics, and optional value-added services. To accomplish this, MARS is divided into three business applications: Tariff,Rules and Service Contract.

MARS Tariff holds walk-in rates whereas MARS Service Contract handles allnegotiated, customer-specific deviations from Tariff. MARS Rules supports boththe Tariff and Service Contract modules with text, data-rich, and calculablesurcharge rules. In addition to the Tariff, Service Contract, and Rules, there aretwo interface applications Retrieval and Calculator which hold business logicand handle the input from and output to GCSS and other systems.

As a repository for walk-in rates, MARS Tariff contains base rates by commodity-based base rate classes, links to mandatory and optional (VAS) surcharges( including arbitrary surcharges), and inland rates. MARS Tariff is a Windows-based program that must be installed on each users workstation. MARS Tariff

contains only the maintenance screens for base rate and inland tariffs, locationgroups and their related scopes, commodity classes, and prices. MARS Tariffcontains a screen for performing tariff retrieval but it is intended and designed fortesting purposes primarily.. MARS Tariff stores base and inland tariff data in astructured way so that, when combined with the Service Contract and Retrieval modules, the single, complete, and accurate price lines can be returned toGCSS.

This document focuses on the use of MARS Tariff to set up, populate, andmaintain base rate tariffs, tariff inlands and inclusions of rules in each in order tomake rates and surcharges available for retrieval. Business process overviews

are presented with links to corresponding detailed screen descriptions andinstructions for their use.

1.1Access and User RolesThe creation, configuration, and ongoing maintenance of tariffs, rates and ruleinclusions in MARS Tariff requires the appropriate security profile. MARS Tariffdoes not require a sign on but the users workstation logon must be registered inthe mars database users table in order to access the applications. User are

    2. BASE RATE TARIFFS - BUSINESS PROCESSES

2.1 CREATE BASE RATE TARIFF - OVERVIEWA Base Rate Tariff (BRT) is a price list for transports performed between definedbase ports. BRTs are differentiated from one another by their scopes, the list ofcountries and base and other pricing ports between which base rates aredefined. Base Rates and may cover pure ocean transports or ocean-landcombined moves, depending on the assignment of base ports.

A BRT holds base rates and links to text and surcharge rules and inland tariffs. The links to surcharges, rules, and inlands from a BRT are made by includingrules and inland tariffs in a BRT (see separate business process).

The process of creating a BRT begins from the Base Rate Tariff List screen.

Base rate tariffs General PropertiesIn MARS Tariff, many BRTs have been created to allow for a clear division ofmaintenance based on operator and tradelane. All BRTs have certain identifyingand controlling parameters that are assigned by the user upon creation. Mostbasic is the tariff number and name. A text description is optional. The nameand description may always be changed but the tariff number is fixed oncecreated. Additionally, the operator, type, currency, validity dates, amendmentcode, and notification period must be specified when an Inland Tariff is created.

OperatorThe operator parameter defines the company for which the base rates areapplicable. At the time of release, MARS Tariff allows for operator to be MSL(Maersk Sealand), SCL (Safmarine), and MCC (MCC Transport). Once theoperator is set for a given BRT, it is not possible to change. GCSS indicates theoperator for the shipment in its price request to MARS, and the retrieval limits therate search to match the specified operator.

BRT TypeIn the process of price retrieval, MARS must sort through many tariffs to find the

single, applicable BRT for a given rate request. Because military and commercialtariffs may have overlapping scopes, the BRT Type was introduced to allowMARS Tariff Retrieval to identify a single applicable BRT. Every BRT must beassigned a BRT Type, which is a combination of military/commercial andconference/non-conference attributes.

CurrencyA currency must be assigned when BRT is created and serves as the defaultcurrency for all base rates. It is possible to change the currency on specific baserates later, but the default currency is not changeable once it is set.

Valid from and Valid toA BRT has an overall date validity range, meaning the date from which any rateswithin it may start and end. Valid from date is mandatory, and may not be in thepast. Valid to date is optional. The validity period on the BRT allows for thecontrol of applicability of the entire set of rates, and would typically not have avalid to date, unless inland service to the area is being terminated, or a new BRTwill replace the existing one.

Notification PeriodNotification period is assigned upon creation of BRT and enforces a minimumnumber of days before which a tariff change with direct or potential impact toincrease a rate may take place. If notification period is set to 5, it is not possibleto make any change take place in less than five calendar days that has thepotential effect of increasing a price. In this example, a user attempting toincrease to a base rate on January 15 would not be able to save the rate with avalid from date before January 20.

Publish DateA BRT is created in so-called draft mode. In draft mode the BRT is onlyaccessible in the MARS maintenance screens. This gives time to create andpopulate a BRT before its rates may be retrieved. Once the BRT is completed,to make it available for retrieval, it must be published. Publish does not transmitthe tariff in any form to any external recipient. Publication verifies that the

notification period defined in the BRT has been respected.

If the valid from date of the BRT does not respect the defined notification period,it is adjusted to current date plus the number of days in the notification period.Any valid-from date of any components of the BRT not respecting notificationdate is set to the BRTs new notification date. The publication date is set (date ofexecuting publish and the BRT becomes available for retrieval.

FMC RegulatedSpecial regulations apply to tariffs covering cargo loading or discharging inUnited States ports. Such tariffs are regulated by the Federal Maritime

Commission (FMC). Using the checkbox to mark a BRT as FMC-regulatedallows functionality for exempt base rate classes, as well as serves to mark ratesas FMC-regulated for Service Contract.

2.2 INCLUDE EXPORT AND IMPORT SCOPE COUNTRIES AND BASEPORTSOnce a BRT is created, its base port scope is next entered into MARS Tariff inthe Scopes and Base Ports screen. Base port scope consists of countries andbase ports on both export and import side of the BRT. All countries from which

cargo will originate or terminate must be in a BRTs scope, even if no base portsare operated in the country. For example, if a BRT is to hold rates for shipmentsto Hungary, the country must be in the BRTs import scope, even though thereare no base ports in Hungary and Bremerhaven serves as Hungarys base port.In this example Hungary is added without any corresponding Base port. In theconfiguration of arbitrary ports and inlands the connection of base rates toBremerahaven with locations in Hungary will be detailed.

At the time of creation of rates, only ports added as base ports will have theirown rates. MARS Tariff will generate base rates for all combinations of importand export base ports in a BRT.

2.3 CREATE ARBITRARY PORTSBase rates hold the prices between base port combinations, but fixed pricespreads over the base rates may be maintained by assigning arbitrary ports to aBRT. Arbitrary ports are used when arbitrary surcharges are charged to movecargo from base ports to arbitrary ports. Arbitrary ports may be any CY location. The fixed additional prices from base ports to arbitraries are handled in MARS assurcharges and set up in MARS Rules. The arbitrary ports and related baseports must be added the Arbitrary Ports screen, before it is possible to record thearbitrary surcharge values in MARS Rules.

    Multiple Base Ports

Arbitrary ports in a BRT may only exist for the countries already in the BRTscope. Each arbitrary port must define which base ports base rates are to beused along with the arbitrary surcharge. An arbitrary port may have more thanone price, e.g. it is possible to establish an arbitrary price to Zeebrugge viaRotterdam and another arbitrary price to Zeebrugge via Antwerp. In thisexample, Zeebrugge must be added twice to the arbitrary scope screens, oncewith each corresponding base port.

Valid from and Valid toThe validity dates of an arbitrary must not only fall within the BRTs validity range, but also may not exceed the validity of the country of the arbitrary, or the

associated base port or its country.

Do Not Extend FlagIt is possible to limit the use of arbitrary ports to control whether inland haulagerates may be combined with an arbitrary port rate. It may be necessary, forexample, to limit the use of an arbitrary such as Madrid to only be a CY deliverylocation. By marking Madrid via Valencia as an arbitrary port with the Do notextend flag, MARS Tariff will only use the Madrid arbitrary surcharge for a

    9/69

product ending at Madrid CY and will not use the arbitrary combined with aninland rate for delivery to a storedoor location beyond the Madrid CY. If astoredoor rate was requested, MARS Tariff would instead look for a base portand a connecting inland to the storedoor, or another arbitrary to Madrid viaanother base port which is not marked do not extend.

By default, the Do not extend flag is not marked and MARS Tariff will use acombination of base port, arbitrary, and inland to construct a rate to a storedoorwhen requested. It is not possible to remove a do not extend flag from anarbitrary. To change the do not extend flag, the arbitrary must be expired andan new one created with the desired flag value. When changing the do notextend status for an arbitrary port, be aware that there are implications forleaving gaps in land rate coverage for the BRT and inland tariff scopes may needto be adjusted to ensure continuity of coverage.

2.4 CREATE SHADOW PORTSShadow ports are needed when no BRT base or arbitrary port is found on theMEPC product. In this case, tariff retrieval cannot proceed. Tariff retrieval usesthe product from MEPC to identify locations, ports, transport modes, etc from theselected transport to be the basis for many inputs to the price. In the rare casesthat ports on the MEPC product do not directly correspond to the pricing basis, itis necessary to set up Shadow Ports for a BRT to translate the inputs from theMEPC Product.

For example, many inland locations in South PRC are priced via Hong Kong butin reality move via other ports, e.g. Yantian. Hong Kong is not in fact a base portfor PRC in MARS, because it does not exist within the country PRC. In order toapply the base rates for Hong Kong in when MEPC products use Yantian andHong Kong is never found in the product, a shadow port is created.

Shadow ports do not have their own base rates. They only serve as pointers inMARS price retrieval to use rates for another base ports in place of a designatedport found on the MEPC product. Shadow ports are created in the Shadow PortsScreen. Each shadow port must be specified for a country, and refer to a baseport for which base rates will be used when a product is identified that matchescountry and shadow port for that BRT during the effective dates. A shadow portmay not already be an arbitrary port or a base port in a given BRT. More thanone shadow port may point to the same base port in a given BRT but the sameshadow port may only point to one base port within that BRT.

2.5 CREATE MLB VIA PORTSCertain trades have traditionally used mini-landbridge (MLB) rates, which aresingle base rates for transports from an export base port to an import base portthat includes an overland portion via a third base port. The shipment is notpriced as an inland but as a second MLB base rate for the combined overland-ocean ocean shipment.

An example is a single base rate covering a shipment from Shanghai, PRC toCharleston, USA but moving via Los Angeles. The MLB rate includes the inlandportion between Los Angeles and Charleston, which are both base ports in theBRT, and does not use an inland price in combination with the base rate. Note

that an MLB rate is generally a complement to an all-water rate, which has adifferent market price.

MLB via ports must be in place when MLB service is offered. If not in place,MARS will apply a traditional all-water base rate, even if an MLB product hasbeen performed.

To establish MLB rates in MARS Tariff, MLB via ports must be established in theMLB Via Ports screen. This functionality is only available with BRTs that havethe United States or Canada in Scope. The base ports in the BRT which areallowed to be used as MLB via ports are specified in this screen. Note, these are

not the destination ports, but the via ports. The MLB base rates apply from theexport base port to the import base port, e.g. Shanghai-Charleston in theexample, not to the MLB via port (Shanghai-Los Angeles). MLB via portsfunction on either export or import scope of a BRT, but not both.

Adding and removing MLB via ports must respect the BRTs notification period, since it has a direct impact to makes new MLB rates available or to expireexisting MLB rates. If MLB via ports are added, ensure MLB base rates areadded.

In the example above, Los Angeles (not Charleston) would be added as an

allowed MLB port, since it is the via port. This allows the BRT to control whichvia ports will qualify for the MLB rates, i.e., if Oakland is not an allowed MLB viaport, a move from Shanghai to Charleston via Oakland will not trigger an MLBrate from MARS Tariff.

An MLB rate in MARS Tariff between two base ports is always has the sameregardless of what via port is used ; it is only a matter of whether the via port isallowed that enables the MLB rate to be used. If an MEPC product shows anMLB move but the via port is not included in the allowed via ports in the BRT, theall-water price for the same base port pair will be retrieved.

2.6 DEFINE PORT GROUPSBase Rate port groups may be defined in MARS Tariff as a means to ease themanipulation of data and to quickly filter long lists of prices in maintenancescreens, However, rates are not created for port groups. Base rates are onlycreated for base port-pair combinations.

Port group definitions in MARS Tariff are unique to the BRT; they are not sharedacross tariffs. Port groups only include base ports and they are defined in the

Port Groups screen, A code, a name, and the included base ports are specifiedfor each port group. A base port may only be included in one port group. Portgroup do not have validity dates since they do not affect rates. Port groups maybe modified or deleted without restriction, however, once created, the code maynot be duplicated or reused.

2.7 CREATE COMMODITY CLASSESBase rates in MARS Tariff are set against groupings of commodities called BaseRate Classes, not against individual commodities. A base rate class may containone or many commodities and are established either for dry or reefer cargo, butnot both. Base Rate Classes that are created in a BRT are listed in the BaseRate Classes screen. From that screen it is possible to search for a classcontaining specific commodities or to create new classes.

Trades that do not use commodities as a price factor still need to use base rateclasses but may include all commodities in a single base rate class one for drycargo and one for reefer cargo.

Commodity groups as defined in based rate classes are unique to the BRT, i.e. abase rate class in one BRT may not be used by another BRT. The number ofcommodity groups should be as few as possible to minimize tariff maintenance. The rates in each class must be maintained separately, so minimizing thenumber of classes will greatly reduce time and effort updating base rates.

Special classes may be needed to house certain commodities that are exemptfrom FMC regulations in an otherwise FMC-regulated BRT. When creating abase rate class, the FMC exempt box can be checked. The commoditiesincluded in the class will have a notification period of one day, regardless of thenotification period of the BRT. Rates for exempt commodity classes are also notretrievable by self-service of other external portals. The FMC-exempt status of abase rate class cannot be edited after creation. The commodities can be expiredor moved to another class if the FMC regulatory status changes.

Base rate classes, like base rate tariffs, are created in draft mode and are onlyretrievable once published in order to allow a period when a new class can be setup and completed before affecting rates. Creation and expiration of classes andmovement of commodities between classes must respect notification periodsince rate increases may result.

Base rate classes are created in the Base Rate Class screen. Cargo type (dry orreefer) must be specified along with valid from date and amendment code. Classname and valid-to dates are optional. Before a class can become activated, itmust have a publish date if it was not automatically published with the publicationof the BRT.

    12/69

Commodity SystemMARS Tariff uses the commodity tree to identify commodities. The commoditytree is based on a hierarchy with a top-level commodity code 00, second-levelfour-digit commodity codes, and third-level six- digit codes. Each six-digitcommodity has a parent four-digit commodity, and each four-digit commoditys

parent is the top-level commodity 00.

2.8 INCLUDE COMMODITIESWhen a base rate class is created, its commodity contents may be defined.Maintenance of base rate class commodities is handled in the Base Rate Classscreen, the same screen used for creation.

MARS Tariff uses the commodity tree hierarchy in the retrieval of rates. Forexample, including top level 00 in a base rate class will cover all four- and six-digit commodities when not present in other classes. MARS will find the mostspecific commodity match to the input on the rate request to determine theapplicable base rate class. In the absence of an six-digit match, the parent four-digit commodity is used, and if no four-digit commodity exists then the rate classcontaining the mandatory top-level commodity is used. The four columns titledDry and Reefer in the commodity hierarchical and list view display which currentand future class each commodity is included in. The black number indicates anexplicit inclusion whereas gray number indicates that the commodity is includedby extension of the hierarchy, but not explicitly.

MARS Tariff requires that the top-level commodity is included in exactly one dryand one reefer base class in each base rate tariff so that in principal there arerates for all commodities. For trades which do not use commodity as a pricefactor, a single dry and a single reefer class should be created and the SelectHS2 button will include all the top-level commodity. The top-level commoditymay not be removed from a valid class; it must be moved instead using the Movebutton.

2.9 ADD RATES TO A BASE RATE TARIFFBase rates should be established between all base port pairs in a BRT. Tofacilitate this, MARS Tariff has a mandatory base rate generation feature thatcreates base rates for all port pairs at levels specified per commodity class. These may then be edited if base rates are not uniform across all base port

combinations. Certain classes may be set up to be non-retrievable in the case ofno-acceptance container size/type. Generation is the only way to create baserates in MARS Tariff. If the scope of a base rate tariff is modified to add newbase ports, base rates must be generated again to create base rates for theadditional base port pairs.

For base rates, MARS Tariff holds up to two versions or time periods in themaintenance screens, i.e. current rates and future rates. Historic rates are

Title: MARS Base Rate Tariff Maintenance Manual Print Date: 03/09/2010

    13/69

retained in the database but are not maintainable, so are not visible on the Tariffmaintenance screens.

All rates in MARS must be created with at minimum one days notice. Thismeans no rate may be created and effective the same day. Therefore, all new

rates are created as future rates and appears in the Future columns in MARSscreens. Upon becoming valid, the future rates become current rates and aredisplayed as such, leaving room in the future column for adjustments to futurerates again.

Base rates in MARS Tariff are container rates. MARS Tariff does not handle LCLor breakbulk cargo. Base rates are set for eight container size/typecombinations: four dry (20, 40, 40HDRY, 45HDRY) and four reefer (20, 40,40HREF, 45HREF). Prices for other equipment types must be handled assurcharges and the appropriate special equipment charges set up. Base ratescan be specified using differing rate basis (per container, per ton, per package),

but the same rate basis applies to all rates in a given base rate class.

2.10GENERATE MANDATORY BASE RATESOnce all commodity classes are created it is possible to mass create the baserates for the port-pair combinations for all classes from the Generate MandatoryBase Rates screen. As indicated, the screen generates the mandatory baserates, not optional rates such as MLB base rates.

Base rate generation is the only facility for initial creation of base rates. Baserates are generated at the same rate for every base port pair for each containersize/type combination in a given base rate class. In trades where base rates forbase port pairs are not uniform, generation at common rates is still required, andthe bases rates must then be edited to the desired rate. There must be baserates in place for all base port combinations for both current and future periods, unless the base rates are marked no acceptance or on demand.

No Acceptance RatesIt is possible to make exceptions to not generate specific size/type/cargocombinations by base rate class using the No Acceptance flag. The no-acceptance flag can be set for individual container/cargo size/type combinationsat the time of generation of the base rates. If an acceptance later changes, therates may be modified to remove the flag and establish prices. Also, individual

base rates may be updated from standard base rates to no acceptance ifneeded.

On-Demand RatesIt is possible to use the on-demand flag to remove a base rate. In priceretrieval, the user gets a message that the requested rate is on demand.When/if it is desired to publish a short-term base rate for the on demand, a price

can be added with an expiration date. Once the valid-to date is reached, the baserate will expire and return to on-demand and blank again. It is possible to editand remove the on-demand flag entirely such that the base rate is treatednormally and has an indefinite future (mandatory) rate as well.

2.11 CREATE MLB RATESOnce mandatory rates are generated, optional MLB base rates may be created.MLB base rates must be created if the tariff scopes provides for MLB via portsand there are MLB products in the tradelane. To access the base rates, youmust return to the base rate class list screen via the navigation tree to select theclass. Just as rates were generated with potentially different levels and ratebases for each commodity class, MLB rates are created for each class.

Highlight the base rate class and press the Maintain Rates button to move theMaintain Base Rates screen. You must then identify the port pairs for which MLBrates need to be established. Use the search filters to limit the list byimport/export country, port group, base port, etc. Select the rate lines whichneed MLB rates by checking the box at left and press the Create MLB button tomove to the Mini Landbridge Rate Details screen.

The lines selected are presented on the Mini Landbridge Rate Details screenwith an editable future rate field for each, as well as a minimum/maximum if therates basis is other than container. An amendment code and valid-from aremandatory and valid-from and must respect notification period. Save the ratesand return to the Maintain base rates screen where they are displayed andmarked YES in the MLB column.

Update Base RatesOnce mandatory rates are generated, future rates may be edited. Only futurerates may be modified. The rate value, currency, rate basis, minimum/maximum(if applicable), the validity dates, non-acceptance and on-demand flags may bechanged. A future rate may also be deleted, leaving the current rate effectiveindefinitely. To access the base rates, enter the Base Rate Classes screen viathe navigation tree to select the class for which rates are to be modified.

2.12 ADD SURCHARGES TO A BASE RATE TARIFFIn MARS, tariff rules are not created from within an individual BRT. Instead, allBRTs make use of rules that exist outside of tariffs in MARS Rules so that alltariffs refer to the same rules definitions and methods of calculation. Thisensures a high degree of uniformity of structure and reuse of data in MARS.Surcharges are one type of rules that are handled in MARS Rules application.Rules may be pure text, calculable, or surcharges and all may be included intariffs. For detailed instructions related to creating, adding, or maintaining tariffrules, refer to the MARS Rules Manual.

    2. 13 ADD INLANDS TO A BASE RATE TARIFF

Base rate tariffs are stand-alone entities and until they are connected toindependent inland tariffs it is not possible to retrieve inland rates in combinationwith the base rates. In order for the rates in an Inland Tariff to be combined withocean rates from a base rate tariff, the Inland Tariff must be included in theBase Rate Tariff.

Inland tariff may be configured in different ways, meaning that they may containinland rates from water port or inland CY locations. Only Inland Tariffs withscope countries matching the scope countries of the Base Rate Tariff can beincluded. Further, for inland rates to be retrievable in combination with a baserates, the BRTs base port or arbitrary port must be the same as the inland tariffs

    inland port.

Inclusion is performed in the Included Inland Tariffs screen. An Inland Tariff isincluded in a Base Rate Tariff either as an export Inland Tariff or an import InlandTariff, although the Inland Tariff itself may hold prices for both inbound andoutbound transports. Inclusion in the Base Rate Tariff has a validity period, with avalid from and optional valid to date. A Base Rate Tariff may contain more thanone Inland Tariff for a single country, but the Inland Ports may not be the same.

For example, a Base Rate Tariff for Canada to France may include two FrenchInland Tariffs, but one has LeHavre as pricing port and the other has Fos surMer. MARS Tariff will not allow the inclusion where an overlap can exist.

As stand-alone entities themselves, inland tariffs have their own validity dates, etc. But, with reference to notification periods, changes to an inland tariff respectthe notification periods of the base rate tariffs they are included in. Therefore, if aBRT with one-day notification includes a given inland tariff, and the same inlandtariff is included in a second BRT with 30-day notification period, certain changesin that inland tariff must respect the greatest notification period, i.e. 30 days.

    2. 14 USING PRICE RETRIEVAL TEST SCREENOnce a BRT is published, rates can be retrieved and tested. The Price Retrievalscreen in MARS tariff is intended to allow tariff maintenance users to simulatetariff retrieval.

The inputs to query an MEPC product are mandatory: Select a receipt anddelivery location by entering the RKTS five-digit codes (e.g. HKHKG for HongKong). Optionally enter the MEPC main load/discharge ports if you want toobtain a specific product for price retrieval testing. Select from the drop-downboxes for some of the other mandatory inputs: operator, container size, type, cargo type, weight, military or commercial tariff, and origin and destinationservice mode. Commodity by its code. One or more can be entered.

There are a number of optional input parameter that can be specified to verify ifsurcharges are properly modeled to be retrieved. One or more reefer, equipmentand dangerous characteristics can be specified by using their codes. Note thesecodes are capital sensitive. Refer to the Appendices of this manual for the list ofcodes available for input.

Press retrieve price to initiate the rate retrieval. If MARS finds more than onceBRT of different types, you may be prompted to specify if you want retrieval touse a conference or non-conference BRT.

MARS returns the result of the search in the Show Price screen or an errormessage. An MEPC product is necessary for retrieval to be possible. A list oferror messages and full description is available in the Appendices of this manual.

The details of a found MEPC product are displayed at the top of the screen Eachlink is displayed along with its transport mode and other details. The middleportion of the screen displays the details of how and where the rate wasretrieved. The BRT, the base ports, the base rate class used and specificallywhich commodities were matched are displayed. The export and/or import inlandtariffs along with the inland port and inland transport mode of the inland rates isdisplayed. Details about the notification period, and FMC status of the BRT, theacceptance/on demand and/or exempt status of the base rate are also displayed.

In the bottom panel the price lines are displayed. There is one line for eachapplicable pricing element: A base rate and potentially and import or exportarbitrary, and import or export inland, and a line for each surcharge is displayedwith its price, currency, rate basis and valid-from and valid-to date. In the Name

column at right, the name corresponding to the freight code is visible as well aswhether the price line is from a BRT, or and export (EIT) or import inland tariff(IIT).

In the price lines grid, for the base rate and each surcharge which was triggeredby a base rate class parameter, the base rate class number used is displayed. The Dan column indicates any lines that were triggered because of a dangerouscharacteristic and the value matched. There are six columns for Location these display up to six location-based parameters that triggered the application ofthe price line. In this way it is possible to see that a given surcharge was appliedbecause one of the geographic locations in the pricing product (base port,

arbitrary port, origin/destination country, state, etc.) matched a surchargeparameter value.
