Mary Sieminski and Janet Hurlbert will present the March 4 book review program on the Lycoming County Women’s Histor y Collection. This digital material represents diaries, correspondence, scrapbooks, newspaper articles and more. You will learn about women

as they participate in volunteer and reform activities, o r g a n i z a t i o n s , education, the arts and the workplace. D i g i t a l re ad i n g means that one-of-a-kind materials at James V. Brown L i b r a r y , t h e

Lycoming County Historical Society, and Lycoming College are now accessible to everyone online at all times. The source materials in this collection tell stories. Come and hear Winifred Maynard speak to us

through her diaries. Get a glimpse of the life of Williamsport Dickinson Seminary school girls in the 19th century and nursing students training at Williamsport Hospital. Listen to the rich history of the Home for the Friendless. Both presenters share a passion for women’s history. Sieminski is the project manager of the Lycoming County Women’s Collection. Hurlbert administered the beginnings of this women’s collection more than a decade ago, and currently is an advisor to the project. She is professor emeritus of library services at Lycoming College.
